Yay! WB’s October 2014 Citrus Lane Box arrived today! It’s one of the first boxes I ever subscribed to and it’s still one I look most forward to every month. I actually have two Citrus Lane subscriptions – one for WB who is 2.5 years old and another box which is randomly aged at 4.5 years (it’s L’s age minus two years). This review is for WB’s box.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month (and is even less when they do a coupon code on top of that). I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive. I generally expect it between the 15th and 20th of the month, so it was right in line this month.
I knew a Citrus Lane box would be arriving today, but I didn’t know for sure which age group box it was. I thought it was the subscription I have set for a 4.5 year old (that one usually arrives first), so I was surprised that it was WB’s box!
The October 2014 Citrus Lane box includes the following fun new toys to keep your little one entertained inside as the days grow colder:
~Taxi City Story Set from Janod ($6.99): I saw this set in the spoiler for this month and I was so hoping I would get it. I love wooden toys (they last forever) and WB loves all types of transportation equipment.
~Police Story City Set from Janod ($6.99): I was even more excited when I realized that WB’s age group box included TWO of these sets! I was planning on trading for more anyway, so this leaves me a little less work. I am going to try and get all of the sets (I think there is also a Firetruck set and maybe one more) and give them to WB for Christmas.
~Hohner Kids Maracitos ($9): We have a special box with just musical instruments in it and I will be adding these to it right away. It gets so loud when the kids decide to “have a parade”, but it’s also very fun!
~Shapeasaurus Board Book from Chronicle Books ($8.52): We were able to select between the Shapeasaurus and the Alphasaurus board book this month and we went for the Shape one. WB needs more work on both, but I liked the red dinosaur better ;). Both books are adorable though!
All totaled I came up with a value of $31.50 for the October 2014 Citrus Lane box for a 2.5 Year-Old Boy. I really liked this box, mainly because I LOVE the little Janod City Sets! I think a little snack would have rounded it out nicely, but I am happy with it as it is.
Did you get a Citrus Lane this month? What age did you get and what came in your box? If you are interested in subscribing, click here and use coupon code “NEWMOMDEAL” before the 19th of October to get 50% off your first box PLUS a free Aden & Anais Burpy Bib set (a $22 value).! You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s an amazing way to try them out!
Those wooden toys look nice. We got a girl I think 3.5 yrs box. It included Annie snack and .50 Q, Animal Dominoes, A pink cape, and pink Maracas.
That sounds like a good box!
My box for a 3.5 year old girl is coming Saturday. I really hope it includes some good items to put away for Christmas 🙂
I hope it does too!
Great box and WB is so cute happily holding it. Those city sets are too fun and I was hoping we would get the maracas in our box but my guy isn’t quite old enough (9 months). I am looking forward to our box arriving tomorrow. Do you know if any coupon codes work with renewals?
None of the codes right now do, but last Black Friday they had a great one that worked for current and new subscribers.
My 3.5-year-old girl box is coming by Monday. I suspect I’ll like the boy box better–they always seem to get better stuff! (And whatever age is above or below her seems better.) Hope she gets maracas too–she loves playing with them at school!
It always works like that doesn’t it?
Same age, same exact box. I too felt like some think maybe a snack was missing lol. And my husband was sad he didn’t get to see out little man’s face when he received and opened it. So I showed him WB. Aside from WB being a total doll, He couldn’t help but notice the gold color of your walls.. we’re moving and picking out color now and he loves gold beige.. do u remember what it is?!?!?!
As a matter of fact I do. It’s by Pittsburgh Paint and is called “Ponytail”. I can send you the label of the paint can if you want to give it to your local hardware store and have them mix you that exact color!
So that would be awesome! ! Thank you so much Jennifer! ! As always your the best!
Wow, totally never thought I would find our color online especially here. But if he like it’s then what ever it takes, as he hate everything!! 😉
I need to get those sets for my daughter. Did you see they have a train story set? I know your boys like trains.
I picked up one of the story trains last year (I think it had animals in it maybe) and a farm set! WB still plays with both!
My mom sent me a picture of Cs. She use the free box coupon and I’m so glad we got the dominos and cape box and since he will be there for about a week in Nov while I’m away scrapping she plans to have them for him then. He will be so happy.
I hope we are getting those in our older box!
We received the same box for our 2.5yr old daughter. She loved it! Especially the cars and maracas! I added the creativity can for the add to box option…with a code of course :). The creativity can kept her busy for at least an hour (with my help), and would have been longer had it not been bathtime. So glad I changed her box to neutral once I saw all the pink legging options for the girl box. She has plenty of those that we never use!
Oh that was a good call for this month!
How can I get a box the age group up from my son’s actual age? He’s 6 months but an early crawler/stander/sitter and needs 9 month level toys? Do I just fudge his birth date? Thanks!
Yes but I think they group ages 6-12 months into one, so for an older box you’ll have to fudge his age so that he’s in the 1 year group. I recently “aged up” my 8 month old son into the 1 year group after receiving a toy designed for 3+ months.
The first box for $5 doesn’t work anymore :(. Apparently it ended in September
;(
Any coupon codes that you know of that are currently valid? Tia!
The 25% off semi-annual sale is still going on:
