October 2014 Dottiebox

Dottiebox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a box curated every month for women. They feature high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands. They offer their standard Dottiebox which is $26/month and a Dottiebox Mini subscription, which is $13/month. This review is for the full-sized Dottiebox, but the Dottiebox Mini review will come later on in the month.

The Box

Dottiebox ships via USPS Priority Mail and always takes just two days to arrive to me.  My mailman forgot to originally leave this on Saturday, but he made a second trek through the neighborhood just to drop it off.

First Look

I am always spoiler free for Dottiebox which is kind of nice.  I can’t do it for all of the boxes, but I will admit it, being spoiler free every once in a while is fun.

The Information Card

The October 2014 Dottiebox included the following lovely things to say “hello” to fail with:

~Black Widow Tinted Lip Balm ($6): I opened this right away and put it on while I was reading the information card.  I love that it’s tinted and love that it gives you both the moisture and the color.  I do hear that Iggy Azalea song in my head every time I see it, but that’s okay.

~Gabriel’s Good Tidings Lip Balm Holder ($16): Yep, I love this. It’s on my keychain with my Black Widow balm right now.  It’s super handy and the balm stays in there perfectly, even if you have your keys getting all thrown around in your purse.

~Not A Dirty Hippie Solid Shampoo Bar ($6.50): I love shampoo bars.  I first discovered them at LUSH and I am hooked.  They lather nicely and leave my hair looking / feeling great.

~Plain J Body and Home Candle ($8): This “Spice Market” scent is absolutely perfect for fall. It has notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove and I love it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $36.50 for the September 2014 Dottiebox.  As usual I loved this box and everything in it was perfect for me.  And it was well over the $26 cost of the box which is always a good thing.
