MakrBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a way for you to discover independent makers from across the Pacific Northwest. It describes itself as being more than just a monthly subscription box of maker goodness and is also a way for you to support a local economy, inspire craft and encourage uniqueness.
MakrBox now offers the following two subscription options: Classic $35 ($29 + $6 S/H) which included 2 to 3 items per month that are a balance of artisan crafted products and small batch, consumable goods and Maven $66.50 ($59 + $7.50 S/H) which includes 3 to 4 items beautifully designed artisan products for home, office and kitchen per month.
MakrBox ships via USPS Priority Mail and takes just a few days to arrive.
I received the Classic box option to review. Everything was packaged nicely and neatly and looked perfect. MakrBox sends individual product information card which give you details on the Makers, the products, the uses and the materials used in the product. Here is what was included in the October 2014 Classic Box:
~Schmidt’s Deodorant ($9): Schmidt’s is a natural deodorant and is free of aluminum, paragons and phthalates. This smells great and is something that both men and women can use. I think once you get used to applying it with your fingers (that is just so different for me) you’ll find that it really is fabulous.
~Revolution Design House Boxcar ($22): This can be used a planter or as a candleholder for a votive (which is what I am going to use it for). They are made to order out of reclaimed, old-growth fir and are really cool.
All totaled I came up with a value of $31 for the October 2014 MakrBox Classic Box. As usual I thought it was well curated and included two great products I would never have been aware of otherwise. They always select such unique items and I love it!
