+love, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends quarterly boxes aimed at plus size women which will include a combination of apparel items, accessories, lifestyle products and other fun surprises. +love / Plus Love in a Box currently serves sizes 18-26 and plans on expanding to other sizes in the near future.
+love ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive. Boxes will ship in January, April, July and October. You will be charged at the beginning of the month and will receive your box by the end of the month.
I believe this was the first ever +love box, so I didn’t really know what to expect!
Typically boxes will include an information card, however, they included a little letter this month explaining about the items and about the products inside. Here is what was included in the October 2014 +love box:
~Grace Adele Clutch ($40 per info card): Grace Adele has gone out of business (according to the information sheet) so I can’t link to the actual bag. It’s a fun clutch and I love that I got the red. It will be awesome for the holidays!
~Doris Crochet Trouser Sock in Graphite ($10.50): Love these! I hate that I have to wear socks because that means it’s getting cold out, but if they are cute (and these are), it’s much easier.
~Alomune ($1): This drink mix is supposed to help arm you against the upcoming cold and flu season. I’ve never tried (or heard of) these before, but I don’t like getting sick, so why not try them!
~Anti-Monkey Butt Powder (~$.50): This powder is designed to help prevent chafing or “monkey butt”. However, I was reading some reviews on it and it sounds like it works for pretty much anything from makeup remover to helping with rashes and bug bites to diaper rash. I will likely end up buying a larger container of this magic!
~Wet n’ Wild Glitter Shadow ($0.99): Each box also includes one item that the founder is loving. This eyeshadow isn’t what I would call an everyday color, but it’s fun and would be great for a night out.
All totaled I came up with a value of $52.99 for the October 2014 +love box. It was well over the $30 cost of the box (with most of the cost being attributed to the purse), but I didn’t really see any size specific items in this box. I am guessing down the road it will become more plus sized specific?
