Lots of boxes arrived this week including my November 2014 Beauty Box 5!
In case you aren’t familiar, Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between! Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, I subscribed a while back when they had a crazy deal that brought the cost of an annual subscription down to $6.58/month.
Beauty Box 5 ships via DHL Express Mail. It starts out with DHL and then is delivered by USPS. Some months it takes just a few days to arrive and other months (like this one) it takes over a week.
The box looked pretty full, but nothing really jumped out at me from it.
The November 2014 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Gracefully Grounded” and included the following items to help with your morning routine and have you dancing through the rest of the day:
~Afterfeather Refillable Travel Bottles ($4.48): I do think this is cute and I appreciate that it is made out of 25% post-consumer plastic, but I can’t really see myself paying that much for a travel bottle on my own.
~DenTek Floss Picks ($2.49): Certainly these are a useful item, but I can’t say that I am excited for them. LOL!
~HASK Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Oil ($2.99): Now this stuff is great! I love macadamia oil and this one is a nice size for traveling.
~Laura Ashley Body Butter ($3.33): I was really excited to open this up and test it out, but I didn’t like it as much as I expected to. The texture of the body butter is weird. It’s almost pudding like? I can’t describe it, but I don’t love it.
~Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash ($1): This isn’t the most exciting product either, but again it’s a useful one. B will take it when he travels or I will give it to L to use.
All totaled I came up with a value of $14.29 for the November 2014 Beauty Box 5. I wasn’t impressed with this month’s box. I pay less than $7/month for it so it was “worth” double the price I paid, but I just thought it was meh. Hopefully next month is better!
