November 2014 Black Dahlia Lacquer

Black Dahlia Lacquer, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a new nail polish subscription service. You can opt to receive two exclusive 8mL polishes plus a piece of handcrafted jewelry or a polish only box which includes the same two exclusive 8mL polishes, plus a 14mL polish. Boxes are $20/month and shipping free within the United States. There is an additional $6 shipping fee for those outside of the US.

The Box

Black Dahlia Lacquer ships via USPS by the 15th of the month. If you order later in the month, your box will be shipped at the time it is ordered.

First Look

Everything came wrapped in bubble wrap and I wasn’t at all worried that anything had broken during shipment. There are some boxes I open and get a bit scared about, but this one was packaged perfectly.

The Information Card

The November Black Dahlia Lacquer box was their first ever subscription box. I received the “with jewelry” option which included the following items:

~Vibrant Pointsettas ($6): This polish is a preview from Black Dahlia’s Micro Glitter Trio, which is launching on December 5th. I can’t decide if I think it’s more red or more pink and either can the information card because it’s described as both. It looks more pink in the picture, but it’s all about how the light hits it.  It’s like nothing I have seen before!

~Woke Up on 6th Street ($6): How gorgeous is this polish? OMG! It’s just fabulous. I am thinking about layering it over a navy and maybe doing one with just this on it. As soon as my current polish starts chipping, I am all over this.

Woke Up on 6th Street

~Copper Toned Necklace ($20): I opened this up without realizing that it was actually nail polish painted on the stone.  How cool is that?  I am not sure which Black Dahlia shade it is, but it’s a really pretty one.

All totaled I came up with a value of $32 for the November 2014 Black Dahlia box!  I thought this was a great first box from them and I really like the texture of the polish.  It’s mother and daughter company and their hand-crafted polishes are all vegan and 5-free.

What do you think of Black Dahlia Lacquer?  If you are interested in subscribing or want to see what other polishes they offer, you can check them out here and use the coupon code “FIRSTMONTHDEAL” to save 10% off your first month.  They also have a few Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals going on as well (like 25% off all polishes + a free exclusive numbered polish) so make sure to check that out!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was sent for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
