November 2014 Citrus Lane

My second Citrus Lane box arrived last week and I kind of hid it from the kids in hopes I could use some of these items for holiday gifts!  This box is for a 4.5 year-old boy (which is L’s age minus two years) and I use the items from it for both L and to save for WB when he gets a bit older.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month (and is even less when they do a coupon code on top of that which they may do on Black Friday??).  I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took just under a week to arrive to me.

First Look

Citrus Lane seems to favor a few brands (Barefoot Books, Faber-Castel, Skip Hop, Melissa & Doug, Janod, Juice Beauty, etc.) and I recognized a few of them in the box.  Totally not a bad thing because they are great brands – just an observation.

The Information Card

The November 2014 Citrus Lane Box for a 4.5 boy included the following items to encourage creative play and cognitive development:

~Connector Paint Box from Faber-Castell ($14.99): This is super cool and I love the design of it.  You can take the individual paints out and hook just a few together, turn them into a circle, etc.  I like this because it makes it so much easier to share point colors when they are all individual like this!  Now you don’t have to pass the entire paint pallet with all the colors on it.

~Watercolor Paper Pad from Faber-Castell (~$4): Nice thick paper which will be awesome for painting or thick markers or whatever the kids want to do with it.  This and the paint set are going to be stocking stuffers for L.

~Animal Boogie Mini Cube Puzzle from Barefoot Books ($12.99): We actually have this book, so the puzzle is a great addition!  It’s a little old for WB right now, but he will use it down the road.

~Babyganics Cold Relief Chest Rub ($8.49): This was my “Mystery Item” this month.  I actually got the same one in WB’s box and I really hope I don’t need either of them, but odds are I will.  And I will appreciate having them in the house and not having to run out to the store with my sick little men!

All totaled  I came up with a value of $40.47 for the November 2014 Citrus Lane Box.  This wasn’t my favorite box, but it was a solid one and it had a nice value.  I will be able to save some of the stuff for later and will have a few stocking stuffers as well, which is awesome!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here and use coupon code “NEWBOX15” to get $15 off your first box!  You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s an amazing way to try them out!
