Global Delights, who kindly sent me this box to review, is an international food subscription box. Each month you will receive between eight and ten international food items from a wide variety of food types from a multitude of countries. Foods will range from cookies and candies to soups and entrees.
Global Delights ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive.
I didn’t recognize anything from the first look which I consider to be a good thing. IT is always fun to see some things I love when I open a box, but it is more exciting not to recognize anything at all.
The November 2014 Global Delights box contained the following items:
~100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil Potato Chips (Spain): B had these and really liked them. At least I think he did because all I saw was an empty bag.
~Honey Cake with Cranberry Filling (Russia): It’s quite possible that this is upside-down. I am just not sure. My brother loves all sorts of international foods (well he loves trying them), so I gave them to him to sample. Of course, I haven’t heard back from him on his thoughts yet, but hopefully he comment on with his opinion.
~Noir Orange Chocolate Biscuits (Italy): I gave these to my brother as well, but I have had them in the past and really liked them. I wouldn’t be sad to get more.
~Cookies with Raisins and Candied Fruit (Peru): These taste exactly what I was expect a cookie version of fruit cake to taste like. If that’s good or bad, I am not sure.
~Instant Thai Tea (Thailand): I haven’t quite been able to bring myself to try this yet. If you have tried it, give me the scoop. Is it drinkable?
~Butter Crisps (Belgium): These are butter wafer cookies and are made in Belgium. Put a little nutella on these and now we’re really talking!
~Violet Crumble (Australia): These have appeared somewhere in the past before if I am not mistaken? Or a friend sent them to me. They aren’t my favorite candy bar, but they are good!
~Aero Bar (England): These look exactly like they do in the picture in real life. Exactly. Down to the bubbles in the bar and everything. And they are really good.
~Milk Rice Pudding Mix (Germany): This is another one that I just haven’t gotten up the nerve to try yet! I am not a fan of rice pudding and I am pretty sure I wouldn’t be a fan of this. The texture on it just gets me!
I didn’t do a cost breakdown on the Global Delights box because it would have been to difficult to try and figure in shipping since all of these items aren’t available for me locally. Or if they are, it would take me some time to try and track them all down. There were nine items in this month’s box which worked out to be $4/item. I like that they give you larger sizes of some of the items so there is enough to share!
