November 2014 Julep

My November 2014 Julep box arrived yesterday and I was very curious to see which box I’d receive since I didn’t remember if I made a selection for the month!

If you aren’t familiar, Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.  Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes.  I am hoping out and have yet to upgrade to the customizable option.  Once you do, you can’t move back down.

The Box

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio.  I think it took about four or five days to arrive to me this month?  It’s not as quick as it was a year or so ago when they used Priority Mail that’s for sure!

I have no idea why I forgot to take a first look picture, but I bet you can guess what it looked like (nail polish in a box).

The Information Card

The November 2014 Julep featured “The Friendsgiving Collection”.  Turns out I didn’t make a selection for this box so it defaulted to “Bombshell” which I guess is my current profile.  It worked out well because that’s what I would have picked anyway.  Here is what was included:

~Fazia (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Fazia is a liquid garnet shimmer and is my favorite polish of the entire collection this month.  It’s a great holiday color and really will work any other time as well.

Fazia (Bombshell)

~Jessie (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Jessie is a deep Kalamata crème and I swear, I have a Julep color on my nails right now that looks exactly like this.  Exactly.  Well wait, I think mine might have a little red to it while this one just seems to have mainly brown tones, but still.  I like this and I will be wearing it!

Jessie (Bombshell)

~Length Matters Wow-Impact Mascara ($20.80 / $26): A have a friend who totally loves the Julep makeup line, so I am going to save this for her to try.  Every time she comes over she raids my makeup closet and leaves with a box filled with Julep polishes and other goodies.  She’ll love this!

Length Matters Wow-Impact Mascara

All totaled I came up with a value of $43.20 (or $54 had I used non-Maven pricing) for the November 2014 Julep “Bombshell” box.  I was really happy with this box and thought that the surprise of not exactly knowing what was coming was kind of fun this month!

Did you get Julep this month?  What collection did you get? As always, if you are interested in subscribing to Julep, click here and use the coupon code “FREEBOX” to get your first box for $4.99 (you pay only the shipping)!  Or you can use the coupon code “TREAT” to get a free 4-Piece Jingle Bells Themed Gift (a $58 value)!
