This has already been a very busy subscription box week around here and one of the boxes that arrived was my November 2014 Love With Food box.
If you aren’t familiar, Love With Food box members receive a curated box filled with 8+ unique gourmet food items. Each box brings new delights, with bites that vary based on seasonal themes. In addition, Love With Food donates a meal (some months is even two meals) to a child in need with each box purchased, which you can read more about here.
Love With Food ships via USPS and took over a week to arrive this month. Some months it arrives quickly and others, not so quickly.
This month’s box seemed larger than normal. I could actually repack everything in it once I opened it which I can never do.
The November 2014 Love With Food theme is “Baby, it’s Cold Outside” and included the following snacks that are sure to warm your heart and home:
~Dried Mini Figs by Fruit Bliss: Yeah, I don’t know if these are something I can get into. I just can’t get past the texture. I think the only figs I like are Fig Newtons ;).
~Milk Chocolate Peanut Cluster by Jers Chocolates: Totally delicious. I only wish there were more of these in the box.
~All Purpose Seasoning Salt by Whole Spice: We have gotten this in a box somewhere along the line and liked it. It’s always fun to see what B makes when we get spices and things.
~Midnight Soft Baked Biscotti by Marlo’s: So good! They are right, this does pair nicely with a cup of coffee. Very nicely.
~Truffles by Guylian: I have these hidden away in my desk for a little afternoon pick0me-up. I have always enjoyed chocolates from this brand and love when Love With Food includes any sort of chocolates in their boxes.
~States and Capitals Educational Snacks by Dick & Jane Baking Company: Oddly enough I just saw this at the store over the weekend and thought they were the coolest. I packed them in L’s lunch today and look forward to hearing what he thinks.
~Laiki Red Rice Chips by Grains of Health: These sort of look like triscuits, but they taste like, well, rice crackers. Not good. Not bad. They were just rice crackers. With peanut butter or hummus or something I suspect they would be better.
~Cinnful Sweet Heat Tortilla Chips by Chipz Happen: These are yummy! I thought they were good straight out of the bag, but I can also see Love With Food’s suggestion of sprinkling them on ice-cream as being good too!
I didn’t do a cost breakdown on the November 2014 Love With Food (I never do), but I thought it was well worth the $12 I paid! There are snacks in here that everyone in the house enjoyed (or will enjoy) and it’s always fun to try new stuff! Oh, and the box also included a $25 gift card to Le Tote and a mini Everyday With Rachel Ray magazine which was fun.
Did you get Love With Food this month? What’d you think? If you are interested in signing up click here. Subscriptions (for a regular box) are $12/month, but if you are a new customer you can try your first box free (you pay shipping of $2) using my link (no code needed)! And if you subscribe and received the Deluxe box this month (which is $19.95/month), did you get any different goodies in it?
We get the Deluxe box, and I think we got all of the same items, just more of them. Hate figs so I’m passing those on, but loved the chocolates. Oops, we did get a little bit of chocolate you didn’t: the Brix chocolate to pair with wine. You’ve received that before with other subscription boxes though, I bet. I sent the educational cookies in my son’s lunch today too!
I purchased our subscription as part of their Black Friday special last year, so I’ve got to decide whether or not to renew. I think it’ll be based on what their Black Friday special is this year. Last year it was a good price for the year, plus you got a 2 year magazine subscription.
I bet they do something similar again! They have good deals!
I loved the dark praline truffles. And they are so adorable!
I still haven’t gotten my first box yet, though it was supposed to be delivered already.. we did just have a epic snowstorm last week so that may be the delay..
That is probably it! It ships via DHL so it takes a while.
Well, I just signed up based on your post, so cheers to trying it and hope December is great!
