OyatsuBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a Japanese candy subscription box. Each month you will receive over a pound of candy, snacks & authentic Japanese food & merchandise delivered to your door. They also offer an OyatsuBox Jr. Box, which is $7.99/month and includes 2-3 items.
OyatsuBox ships directly from Japan at the beginning of every month. Boxes generally take 2-3 weeks to arrive to their destination.
Just as promised, the box was packed full of candy! I was excited to dig through and se what everything was.
I was quite pleased to see that the OyatsuBox came with an information card! When you can’t read the labels on the items, it’s always nice to have a card to guide you. Here is what was included:
~Japanese Kit Kat Green Tea Matcha: I have gotten these in the past and every time I try them I think I am going to like them. I never do. LOL. L tried them for the first time and, on his first bite he declared them to be amazing. On his second bite he changed his mind. It takes a minute for the green tea flavor to hit you!
~Pocky Kuchidoke: Love these! They are made with rich hot cocoa and taste great in a warm drink.
~Neru Neru Nerune – Otanoshimi: I have never gotten a Japanese candy making kit before, but I have always wanted to get one. L and I “made” the candies (you pour the powder in and mix with water) and he thought it was super fun to do. Love this!
~PuyoPuyo Tetris Gummies: These are gummy candies and come in a bunch of flavors. I am actually saving them for a stocking stuffer for L because they are totally his type of thing.
~Calpis Marshmallows: I wasn’t a fan of these, but L thought they were amazing. He saw them on the counter and NEEDED to try them immediately. They have some odd filling in them which he thought was amazing and I thought, well, I didn’t think it was amazing.
~Doreamon Ramune Gum: This is going to be another stocking stuffer for L. The information card doesn’t say exactly what the flavor of this is, but I am guessing it’s some sort of blue soda?
~Japanese Rice Cracker: This packaging makes even a rice cracker look like candy. Well some people might consider this to be a special treat. I don’t really though.
~Chicken and Egg Lunch Soup: I haven’t made this yet, but I am excited for it. You just put it in a mug and add hot water and it’s done!
I didn’t do a cost breakdown for this box, but I thought it was one of the best snack Japanese boxes I have gotten. The snacks were (mainly) like nothing I have gotten before and like nothing I have seen here. Totally unique and super fun.

I love green tea things, I wonder if the kitkats sort of taste like green tea ice cream…
It’s interesting to read the food reviews. Meal Time must not be boring in your house.
This box looks great! By the way, the ramune candy is flavored after a Japanese soda which comes in a blue glass bottle. It should taste like lemon-lime.
