Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You are able to select between a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This selection is for WB who is 2.5 years old.  I also received a book for L (he’s 6), which you can check out here.

The Book

The Package

Zoobean ships via USPS Media Mail.  Sometimes Media Mail takes over a week to arrive, but this appeared in just a few days.

Peekaboo Morning by Rachel Isadora

WB’s book selection this month was Peekaboo Morning by Rachel Isadora (which is selling for $12.23 on Amazon right now).  WB thought this book was great and I thought the illustrations were amazing!  I am surprised I haven’t heard of this one before.  It seems like it’s one that everyone should have!

The App

But Not the Hippopotamus App

WB’s app selection this month was “But Not the Hippopotamus“.  It’s $3.99 is an interactive book version of the Sandra Boynton book.  WB likes interactive stories, but they don’t hold his attention for too long yet, so I may hold off on this one for now.  It’s a fantastic book though!

The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrow it from your local library!  They always pick such great books for us that I wouldn’t have picked up otherwise and I love that!
