This week started off great thanks to the arrival of a bunch of fun subscription boxes including my Winter 2014 Yuzen Box!
If you aren’t familiar, Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season. Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies. Yuzen was previously a monthly subscription box (this was a while ago), but switched to quarterly early last year, which I like even better.
Yuzen ships via USPS Priority Mail which is totally awesome because it only takes two days to arrive.
Yuzen always has the best packaging and their boxes are ready for gifting as as! You could wrap it if it was something you were giving as a gift, but it’s not necessary by any means.
Not only is everything packaged in a beautiful gift box, the actual items are contained in an organza bag. Just a very pretty overall presentation on this box.
The Winter 2014 Yuzen box includes the following items to help you treat yourself to a little Zen this season:
~Acure Brightening Facial Scrub ($3.75): I totally love this stuff. I have this odd belief that the grosser a face scrub / mask smells and looks, the better it works. Probably not true for all of them, but this stuff really works.
~Cowgirl Extreme C Serum (~$18): This serum will help reverse sun damage and give you an overall boost against environmental aging. This isn’t a full-size product, but I do think it’s enough to give you an idea if it will work for you.
~Essence of Vali Sleep ($2.16): I have been sleeping quite well lately, but there is always room for improvement. I will be putting a drop of this on my pillow the next few nights and we’ll see if I can tell a difference.
~Dark Chocolate Covered Cocomels ($2): The regular cocomels are delicious enough, but these dark chocolate covered ones are even better! So good.
~Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Eye Serum ($16): I have tried the Jurlique serum before and liked it and I hope this is just as good. It’s said to reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. I tested it out and it made my eyes feel nice, but I couldn’t see any immediate results (which isn’t surprising).
~Salus Shower Bombs (Eucalyptus and Lemongrass) ($4.50): Eeek! I love shower bombs and am really excited about this brand. I like the Level Naturals Shower Bombs we have gotten in the past, but love that this brand has a variety of scents to choose from.
~Zents Ultra Rich Shea Butter Soap (Mandarin) ($12): This does smell fantastic, but I am in bar soap overload here! It will work nicely as an add-on to a hostess gift this holiday season though.
All totaled I came up with a value of $58.41 for the Winter 2014 Yuzen box. It was a solid box for sure, but I can’t say that it was my favorite Yuzen box to date. Every item in it is useful and I like them all, but it didn’t have that “wow” factor that some of their previous boxes have had.
