My second (I have two accounts) December 2014 Birchbox arrived over the weekend! This one was the Lo Bosworth Guest Editor Get the Party Ready Birchbox, while my other one was the regular December “Decked Out” box.
If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox, which is $10/month, offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes and get some complete steals (which I try to do).
Birchbox ships via Newgestics and took just a few days to arrive.
I don’t read The Lo Down on a regular basis, but I when I do go on her blog I am there for ages! So when I saw that she was the Birchbox Guest Editor this month I knew I had to opt in!
This first look was pretty similar to the first look in my other box! Except this one was pink, not blue.
The December 2014 Lo Bosworth Get the Party Ready Birchbox included the following items to help get you glammed up and out the door to your next event in record time:
~Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain (Heartthrob) ($9.29): I have received this gloss (but in a different color) before and I love it. It’s not sticky and lasts quite a while.
~Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre ($1.87): This is a brand new product for me and I think I love it. It’s a primer and moisturizer in one and smooths out your skin quite nicely!
~Davines Replumping Superactive (plus bonus Shampoo & Conditioner) ($19.75): So excited to get more of this replumping spray! It’s fantastic, smells good and getting another sample this month saves me from having to buy it anytime soon.
~Joie Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum ($1.73): I can’t remember if I have received this in the past, but it smells amazing! I don’t think I’ll ever buy the full-size, but I love the sample.
~RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer (RUFFIAN Red) ($10): I have enjoyed the formulas of all RUFFIAN polishes I have tried to date and this red looks like a great party color!
All totaled I came up with a value of $42.64 for the December 2014 Lo Bosworth Get the Party Ready Birchbox! Including the points I get for purchasing the box and the points I get for reviewing the products (7 products = 70 points = $7 Birchbox dollars), I came up with a total value of $50.64! These Guest Editor boxes are such an amazing idea and I hope they keep them up monthly!
Do you subscribe to Birchbox? Did you get your box yet this month? What number was it and what was in it? If you don’t subscribe (it’s only $10/month) and are interested in learning more, click here. You can use the coupon code “TENBACK” to get 70 extra points with any Birchbox purchase right now!
I got box number six this month. I was going to opt for the guest editor box, but there were so many repeats for me I decided not to.
I added on a Birchbox Plus necklace and they sent me the wrong one. They are sending me the right one and I can keep the “wrong” one, or gift it to a lucky friend!
They are so awesome!
I got the hair spray and shampoo/ conditioner too and wow that shampoo smells amazing! A lot like lemons which I love. It’s the first shampoo I’ve ever considered buying after tyring!
Just a heads up, you do get points on a month to month subscription. I do month to month and get points for it every time. Plus I review, of course. You note at the bottom can be extremely misleading!
I am so sorry for the confusion! I didn’t realize that you now give you the 10 points every month when you are billed the $10! I will remove that little note. Thank you for the heads up!
