True Drool, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box for the dogs. It’s designed for the “over 40 crowd”, over 40 pounds that is! Boxes contain 4-7 toy/treat items for your large active breed dog to wag, wiggle and drool over.
True Drool ships via USPS around the 15th of the month. If you order by the 7th of the month your box will ship that month. If you order after the 7th, your box will ship the following month.
It was pretty clear from the first look that this was a holiday themed box! The boys could totally smell something they liked because they were trying to get in this box as I was taking these pictures!
The December 2014 True Drool Box was holiday themed and featured the following items:
~Planet Dog Snowball ($11.95) & Coal ($11.95): These are super sturdy and 100% guaranteed to be around next year at this time. They are designed for dogs who LOVE to chew and are rough on toys. And they are so funny.
~Puppy Cake Holiday Cookie Mix ($6.99): This is basically the perfect project for the kids and I to do over break. And unlike when we make human sugar cookies, I won’t constantly be checking to make sure they aren’t licking their fingers and then touching the cookie dough! However, I am guessing the dough on these isn’t quite the same, so they won’t even want to try and sneak bites of the dough.
~Zuke’s Z-Bone ($3): This is designed for large dogs, but I gave it to Baxter and Buddy yesterday and they went wild for it. Absolutely wild for it. And I do think their breathe smells better already.
~Cloud Star Buddys Biscuits Holiday XXL ($2.49): The dogs were eying this too, but I am saving it for a different day. You could break it up into smaller pieces to make it last longer, but I know that it will take Baxter and Buddy forever to eat it anyway (they’ll mainly fight about who gets to sit by it), so we don’t need to do that.
~Christmas Stocking ($5): Everything was packaged in a cute stocking which I will be saving for the dogs for next year! They used to have stockings, but I don’t know what happened to them. And it would have come in handy for this year because they kept stealing their toys from under the tree after Santa dropped them off!
All totaled I came up with a value of $41.38 for the December 2014 True Drool box. If you have a big, active dog, this is for sure one to check out! It’s one of the only boxes I know of for large dogs and it featured treats made only in the USA! True Drool also gives back 10% to rescues and non-profits!

This is adorable!
I like that it was all in a stocking!
Awesome! We get Paws and Play GIANT breed box and it’s awesome for big pooches and they have the best customer service ever! But this one looks worth checking out too!
I’ll have to check that one out. What do they consider “giant” breed size? I have a 95-pound Rottie and I’m always a little wary when I see something calling a 40- or 50-pound dog “large.”
They don’t specify weight but do include a list of breeds suitable for the giant box. It includes massive, St Bernard and yes rottweiler! My Boxer is 120 pounds and every box has been perfect for him! We also love all their options. Can do monthly boxes or once every 3 months. Toy only boxes and lots of special edition one time purchase boxes. They have a blog and send *lab buddies* free stuff to review too! We do it and get extra goodies for free because of it! I think they are doing another casting call for more lab buddies now too! Oh and they have an awesome points system!
Thanks, I’m definitely going to look into that one.
