Birchbox Man ships via USPS through Newgistics and, even with the holidays, took just a few days to arrive this month.

B’s Birchbox Man box was larger than normal this month.  He had no idea what was inside of it, but I had peeked at it online (and made his lifestyle selection), so I totally knew.

For the first time in ages, I cannot figure out how to tell what number box B received.  I can’t figure out how to check out all of the different box variations this month either.  As soon as I do though, I will make sure to post!

The January 2015 Birchbox Man theme was “Let’s Do This Thing” and included the following items to help you kick off 2015 and make come concrete goals in the process:

~Do The Right Thing First Thing First Face Scrub ($2.50): This is in our shower already. It’s described as an exotic exfoliator with apricot seed to buff skin and Morrocan lava clay to dig up dirt.  It sounds pretty fabulous if you ask me and I might have to sneak a test of it myself.

~Gilchrest & Soames Spa Therapy Body Wash ($2.53): I like the smell of this, but it really does remind me of a hotel product.  I would, however, make sure I took these home if I ever found them in a hotel.

~Lab Series MAX LS Age -Less Power V Lifting Cream ($15.60): This cream stops wrinkles and sagging in their tracks and is formula for repaid cell repair.  B isn’t loyal to any brand right now, so he’ll be happy to test this for a few weeks and see if it works.

~Nourish Snacks Mr. Popular Snack ($2): Mr. Popular are half-popped corn kernels and are super good.  I love the size of these packs too.  Perfect to just grab and go!

~Cory Vines The Path Long Sleeve Tee ($35): This was B’s lifestyle choice this month.  It was sold out when I went to make the selection, but as usual, if you e-mail them, they will make it happen!  It’s an awesome long-sleeved workout shirt and it’s something he would have bought on his own anyway, so this worked out perfectly.

All totaled I came up with a value of $57.63 for the January 2015 Birchbox Man box.  And that doesn’t even include the points for purchasing the box (20 points = $2) or the points for reviewing the products in the box (5 items = 50 points = $5), which brings the real value to $64.63.  We loved this box and are SO loving that Birchbox Man is allowing subscribers to choose their lifestyle item now!

They must have SO MUCH of that body wash. I organized my stash over Christmas and I found two tubes of it. I guess one came in a regular women’s BB, and I remember the other from a Mystery Sample Pack.

Ha!!! Now that you mention it, I think I have received it in a Mystery Sample Pack as well!

I did NOT know that you could pick out lifestyle items! I bought my boyfriend the year subscription for Christmas and the January box came yesterday. He received SUCH different things though….we didn’t get any of what was in your box. I guess our lifestyle item was the shoe cleaner….
But now that I know we can pick lifestyle items, definitely gonna do that! I don’t think my boyfriend was too impressed with what he got so hopefully next month will be better.

I have to say though, I was surprised by how small the box was. I guess I’m used to Popsugar which comes pretty big, so when this box arrived in my actual mailbox, I was surprised.

They send you an e-mail! I believe the e-mail for the January selection arrived in mid-December??? If it was his first box though you *might* not have gotten a selection e-mail? But going forward they do! I always post when I hear of the date they are sending out the e-mails. It should be a few weeks before we get an email about the February selections.

Actually, I have to ask. How do you choose the lifestyle item? I just went on the website and couldn’t find out/figure out where I would go to choose it for the next box.

  4. Caddie

Man, I would happily pay BB $20 a month if it meant getting substantial lifestyle items for women like the ones they include for men.

    1. theramblingjen

      Oh me too! For sure!

When I’m at a hotel that has G&S I’m all OOOOOH but when they come in a box then I’m: HOTEL.
