Two questions today…..

1. What are you doing for New Year’s Eve? Are you going out? Staying in? B and I have no real plans. We’ll just be staying in and laying low. Maybe making something fun for dinner like fondue? And watching ALL of the New Year’s Specials on tv.

2. What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Do you make any? I am not making any that are too set in stone, but I am going to try and read more, exercise more and drink more water. WAY more water! I would also like to work on going to bed earlier (this is always a goal of mine). These aren’t even really resolutions, just things I always should have been / should be doing!

Can’t wait to hear your answers!

    1. We don’t have any big NYE plans, but we will be watching the specials and eating Chinese food. (And probably watch a movie with the girls).

    2. I actually have a lot of resolutions but they are things I should be doing already (finances, eating healthy, organizing, meal planning…)

    1. theramblingjen

      Totally with you on #2!!!

  2. raisin

I’m probably in the minority with this first one, but I want to gain a little weight, get in the habit of exercising regularly, save more, spend less. That’s about it.

    1. theramblingjen

      Great goals! Happy new year!

When we used to visit my parent on new year we had a big party with all extended family, it was fun 🙂 now we live far from them and we avoid traveling in this time of the year we used to have a family dinner at home, but now that my daughter was born on december 31st we split the day in two celebrations, around 5 we have a little party with kids decorations and then around 9 we switch the table to something more new year with decorations too, so we have two celebrations for the last day of the year, this year she is super fan of minecraft, so we will have pig decorations and we will wear the blue t with the pink pig in the middle hehehe, so a lot of things to do tomorrow.
i hope you have a wonderful new year 🙂

    1. theramblingjen

Happy Birthday to your little one!!!

    1. We will be going to my in-laws for appetizers and then to my parents for dinner and to watch the ball drop as well as all other NYE TV specials. It’s so hard making real plans when you have a 2 year old and are 6.5 months pregnant.
    2. My New Year’s Resolution is to budget better and cut out unneccesary costs. I also want to pay off some debt and live a simple happier life.

Not doing anything for New Year’s Eve. I am so sleep deprived I don’t think I’ll make it until midnight.

Resolution-wise, I don’t know. I need to start exercising again; I stopped when I got stressed after my car died (like died, never to be resurrected) in October. And I need to stop eating a bunch of junk food (canceled all food subs so that should help). Also I’m doing some stuff on MUT, like finishing off an eyeshadow palette and doing at least a 100-day no-buy of skincare and cosmetic items.

    1. theramblingjen

I should do some of those MUT challenges!

I’ve been so tired lately too. I really really need to get better about getting more sleep.

    Hi Jenn
I will be working New Year’s Eve and when I do I organize a potluck because well nothing is open. I’m making a turkey chile. My boss can’t eat red meat so I wanted to include everyone. Then New year’s day I’ll be staying in my new soft pj’s from Victoria’s secret! I look like an elf but who cares!

resolutions: convince my doctor that I need to be on insulin – the medication is not working for me and I’m going to set a goal to read 100 books this year through Goodreads.

    1. theramblingjen

      Yum!!!!

And OMG, 100 books! That is like 2 a week!!! That is incredible!

I just have to ask.. and don’t know where to put it, but did start using adds like the pop up ones on your Web page?? It pops up and you can’t “x” it out it goes to the add.. it is driving me beyond crazy. It moves around my screen and I can’t read anything

    1. raisin

This happens to me when I’m viewing from my cell phone. The first day I could x it out, but now when I click on the x it opens a new browser

      1. theramblingjen

Ahhh, I didn’t know it was still doing it! I can’t get it to recreate it for me so I am not sure which ad it is?? Where does it take you? I will get it removed!

        1. raisin

Just visited on my phone and its no longer popping up. Thank you!!!

          1. theramblingjen

Let me know of it happens again!!!!!

    2. theramblingjen

I actually just asked my ad service to remove all the ones that were redirecting people. It was driving people (and me) nuts. Is it on your phone or computer? Whatever it is, they clearly didn’t take them all down!

      1. Lauren

It was on both my phone and the home computer. I did just check and it did not happen again thank God. I did not want to leave you but I couldn’t deal with those ads anymore it was awful

        1. theramblingjen

PLEASE let me know if it happens again and let me know what ads it takes you to!

New Years is going to be mellow. I think N & I are going to the local brewery about 3pm and getting a few growlers of beer for later … coming home and watching as many movies as we can stay awake for. we’re boring old people now.
And my resolution is to stress out more. I figure if I can manage that, everything else will fall into place.

    1. theramblingjen

I could send you some of my stress????

  9. PA Anna

We will be playing Zelda Monopoly and other games with the boys. My husband and I go out on New Years Day for breakfast and watch the sun rise. He also cooks a special New Years dinner of pork and cabbage. I don’t know if that meal on NY Day is widespread or not. I never heard of it until I married him

I call them goals instead of resolutions. Same idea. A few biggies is moving my business forward, helping my older son prepare for college (PSATs, college visits etc.), plus the usual losing weight, read more, exercise more etc.

    1. theramblingjen

Your New Years Day plans sound great! And the NYE ones too of course!

  10. nymisc

Husband has to work until ten but I am going to use any spare time I can find between the munchkins to write a what went wonderful list and keep that but also what I need to let go of and leave it in 2014. I may take your lead and watch Gone Girl after the kids go to bed. I did finish the book..loved it! I even started another one of her books. I bought the trilogy. Everyone of your “works in progress” I need to do as well, especially the water. I am starting the 21 day fix in a group to try to get in shape before I go to China in March. I think 2015 may actually be a great year. Here is hoping!

    1. theramblingjen

OMG let me know what you think of Gone Girl!

And omg, China! How long are you going for?

  11. Mrs. L

Tomorrow is a work day for me and since we are getting together with friends on the 1st, New Years Eve will be just the two of us. And the cats. And hopefully with a working heater. Having King Crab Legs and a juicy steak. Lots of chocolate. And other foods that will be off limits once I start the detox next Monday. So candy. And chips. And any other junk food I can find.

    1. theramblingjen

I saw your instagram! Those crab legs looked amazing!

  12. Hannah

    1. We’re going out for dinner & then to a local bar/restaurant that has a good band playing with a couple friends, but I just found out today that I have to work on the 1st, so I won’t be partying too hard.

    2. My goals are to stop biting my nails (I’m hoping 2015 is the year my boyfriend will propose, so I want my nails to look good just in case!), to start walking and/or running after work, and to save more, spend less which is pointless because my sister & I are planning a big trip for the end of 2015.

    Happy New Year!

    1. theramblingjen

I love it! You do need to make sure those nails are looking good!

  13. Jennifer Holzmeyer Louthan

M is working the Avet Brothers concert so it will just be me and the boys. We are going to the neighbors for a little bit around 7ish and the when we come home I will watch all the NYE specials on tv while they sleep. LOL
No set resolutions but I’m up for all of yours and then add on try to be more organized. I’ve been working on it an its there but I feel like there is always more to be done.

    1. theramblingjen

I should make it my 2015 goal to ALWAYS keep my storage close clean!

  14. Traci Ann

I will be going to my friends house for NYE, we will cook and watch tv with her kids.

For New Years, I would like to lose a little more weight, start working on my Masters, and start running more. I keep looking at running boxes, including the one from quarterly. I guess those are are standard thougj

    1. theramblingjen

Running is always a secret (well not so secret I guess) goal of mine!

  15. cindy lou who

Ill be hanging in target lol today 1 of ours went to 70 the other still 50 prices still seem high and pretty cleaned out..alot of items like cosmetics and gift bxs sets still at 30.

    1. theramblingjen

      What did you find????

  16. Becka

My husband is a musician in a major symphony orchestra, and they have a 10pm concert with a champagne toast after, so that’s where I will be. (Although I’d rather go to bed early tbh.)

As for resolutions: Spend less time on social media. Spend more time reading actual books. Downsize my belongings (I would like to cut my belongings in half in the next month or two!). And become a better baker. 🙂

    1. theramblingjen

      What does he play?

I love the spend less time on SocialMedia. I am getting better about Instagram, but Facebook is still a time suck!

      1. Becka

        He’s a violinist. 🙂

Facebook is hard. A few months ago I started doing #FacebookFreeFriday and that has felt really good, so I’m trying to be on it less and less. Happy New Year!

  17. Debbie

I will be working probably overtime because I work in a casino. My husband and I DVD all the nye parties on TV and watch them at like 4am when we get home. As for resolutions spend less.

    1. theramblingjen

What does the casino do on NYE? Does the gaming floor do a countdown?

  18. Jasujo

    1) We always try to have something fun to eat for the kids. I think we’re doing a fondue this year! We all stay up until the ball drops and maybe another hour because they still show music performances on tv. Then we sleep in on New Year’s Day. haha 🙂

    2) I think my resolutions are pretty much the same as yours! Good luck to the both of us! 🙂

    1. theramblingjen

      yes! Good luck to us!

  19. theramblingjen

Those are great resolutions! And congrats on the baby-to-be!

  20. Cymbre Martin

We were on a plane on New Years ugh ugh ugh and mine is to get a gym membership!
