Try The World, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a bi-monthly subscription box that allows you to try products from around the world without leaving your house. Their team of travelers and local experts curates a collection of products that best represent each country / city. The first box starts in Paris and then boxes move to Toyoko, Rio and other cities around the globe. Boxes include not only delicious gourmet finds but also a companion on the history of the products and how to use them.
Try the World ships via USPS. Your first box will ship within ten days or ordering. Your second and following boxes will ship at the end of the month in which you are billed.
I was quite impressed with how the outer Try the World box opened up. I thought it was very cool.
I didn’t know what was inside from the first look, but I knew that this box was heavy! So heavy!
This month’s Try the World box destination was “Venice” and included the following items:
~Urbani Tartufi Red Pesto and Truffles ($9.95): This sauce can be used for just about anything it seems. From sandwiches to pasta to fish and meat, this works.
~Leone Pastiglie: I just couldn’t resist trying these. I was thinking they’d be something like a lemonhead, but they are more like a lemon altoid. Kind of. Or many like a candy heart, but lemon flavored? Either way, they are really really good.
~Mogi Coffee ($24.50): This coffee is headed to work with B. It’s described as a full-bodied and creamy roast with low levels of caffeine. They had me wanting to keep this at home for myself right up until that last part ;).
~Venchi Torroncini: These are different. I don’t know if it’s just the texture or the look of them or what, but I am not a fan.
~Perugina Limoncello Chocolate Tab ($2): I saved this one for myself for after the challenge ;). It dark chocolate flavored with lemon, which sounds amazing.
~Pastificio Dei Campi Pasta: This pasta is handmade in Italy and sounds delicious. B and I love when we get fancy pastas in subscription boxes.
~Mystery Treat – melata di bosco: All of the boxes included a Mystery Treat and mine is this Italian honey.
I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box because I couldn’t find many of the items for sale online, but I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say it’s worth more than the $39/cost. It had a nice variety of items and stayed very true to theme of the box!

I would use every single item in that box. I think I actually just drooled.
I didn’t receive my Venice Box until last week. A Whole month later than I was supposed to receive it.
The only thing the same as the box everyone got in January was the lemon chocolate bar. I was SOOO disappointed in them!! Cancelled my box immediately. Trying to be in contact with them about my missing box was next to impossible. I posted on their facebook page about it, and they’d instantly delete my posts. And now I’m blocked from posting on their page at all!! Talk about a shady company. I will NEVER deal with this company again! And I still intend to dispute it with my bank because I didn’t receive what I Expected at all.
I got different items in my Venice box too but they were all delicious and definitely worth the money!
I got: olive oil (nice size tin can), pear & grappa jam (yum), the best honey in the world (not the one that’s in this review), chocolate covered cherries, anchovies (not my favorite), chocolate bar (different flavor than pictured here but still good), and Ethic coffee (not the same as in this review).
I still have the product card. It says “Because Try The World works with smaller producers across the world, each box may have a slightly different selection of products or flavors than shown here. However, we ensure that all products included pass our highly selective criteria to deliver an authentic experience.”
I think each box is slightly different! I was really happy with my box! It’s so good! I can’t wait for my next one!
