Dollar Shave Club, who kindly sent me this box to review, delivers razors to your door each month at crazy low prices, so not only don’t you have to pay a small fortune for razor blades you don’t even have to shop for them.  You can choose between three different razor options (“The Humble Twin”: $3/month, “The 4X”: $6/month or “The Executive”: $9/month).  B and I actually get Dollar Shave Club razors every month (and have for years), but I have only done a few reviews on them.

The Box

Dollar Shave Club ships via DHL and takes under a week to arrive.  Your first shipment will process and ship immediately and monthly shipments will come at the same time each month.

We only get the razors from DSC, so our monthly shipments arrive in a small pouch.  I think I have gotten an add-on maybe once?  Opening this box and seeing it packed full of items was a special treat!

The Information Cards & The Bathroom Times

The package included information cards on the three add-on products included and also a copy of “The Bathroom Minutes”.  The Bathroom Minutes, is, you guessed it, reading material for the bathroom.  B loves it.  I have no clue if he takes it into the bathroom or what, but I know he reads it.

~The Razor – The 4X ($6/month):  This is actually the option B and I receive each month!  It’s got 4 blades and each shipment includes 4 cartridges – one per week.  We tried “The Humble Twin” option to begin, but we both like this one a lot more.  Before DSC, we used to pay a fortune for cartridge refills at the store.  I think they are, what, like $16 for 4?  Insanity.

~Dr. Carver’s Shave Butter ($8): Shave Butter helps prevent razor bumps, ingrown hairs and even works for sensitive skin.  Works for shaving your legs too.

~One Wipe Charlies ($4): These are described as buttwipes for just for men. I am sure you can figure out they are used.  We’ve gotten them in the past and while we don’t normally discuss buttwipes, I would assume B would have told me if he hated them or if they caused a reaction or something.

~Dr. Carver’s Post Shave ($9): Post Shave is exactly what it sounds like.  A post shave cream.  This is the only one I am not sure if B has tried yet.  If he hasn’t yet, he will.  He’s awesome about using everything he receives from boxes.

I actually JUST signed up on Friday for this, after stopping at Walmart for razor blades and then having a heart attack that they were $27 for 6! Um, no thank you. I’m glad to see that you’ve been subbing for a while, makes it a bit less iffy 😛 (Though for $6, I mean.. always worth the try!)
