February 2015 Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women, arrived yesterday. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

Stitch Fix ships via FedEx from San Francisco.  It generally takes under a week to arrive to me.  If you have automatic fixes scheduled, you will receive your package four weeks from your checkout date.

First Look

I looked in my account to see what I was receiving this month before it arrived, but since it doesn’t include pictures I really had no idea what everything would look like.

The Info Sheet

Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $286 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $199.50 (plus my $20 styling fee and that includes the 25% discount you get for buying all of the pieces).

~Zad Zoe Open Shape Metal Earrings ($28): These earrings are cute, but I know I wouldn’t wear them a ton, so I they will be headed back.  Verdict: Returned.

~Market & Spruce Chaimbers Cowl Neck Knit Top ($48): This looks cuter in the picture than it is in person.  It’s too short.  Had it been a few inches longer I may have kept it.  Verdict: Returned.

~Mavi Freida Ankle Length Skinny Jean ($98): Cute jeans and the price is right on these.  However, I have a few pairs like this, so I don’t “need” these right now.  Verdict: Returned.

~Laila Jayde Salderas Hooded Cardigan Sweater ($64): LOVE.  Not only is this a cardigan, it’s a hooded cardigan.  And it has pockets!  That’s total perfection right there. I need to make a note in my account to see if this comes in any other colors because I want them all.  Verdict: Kept.

~Pink Martini Opal V-Neck Sweater ($48): I don’t dislike this, but I don’t love it either.  It’s a little short but since it’s a bit see though you need to wear something under it anyway, so that’s not too big of a deal.  Still it’s not my favorite, so I will likely return.  Verdict: Return.

I am keeping one item this month and I LOVE it, so that’s a win. I kept all the items from last month (that 25% discount sucked me into getting them all) so I am actually glad I didn’t want everything this month.  I have said it before, but as long as there is one item I absolutely love in my Fix and I don’t lose my $20 styling fee, I am happy.

  1. I do like that cardigan – and i would have returned the rest too ! I got a silver bib necklace with circles I like and I got a colorful top to wear to work but I am returning a blue cardigan, black fake leather jacket, and a grey and black dress that is similar to dresses I already have!
