FrenchBox Update

FrenchBox just sent out an e-mail update regarding the February 2015 Box and their plans for the future.  I posted the letter in full above, but I’ll highlight the main points as well:

~They realize that they let subscribers down with the February box and did not verify two of the products in the box (the lipstick and the serum).
~They will be providing an ingredient list for the bath beads.
~The March box (and all future boxes) are on hold.
~Subscribers will not be billed on February 25th (which is the date subscribers would have been billed for the March box).

FrenchBox are still working out a resolution for the February box and subscribers.  There was also no indication of how pre-paid subscriptions will be handled or how long they anticipate the delay on the March box will be.  I’ll update as soon as I hear anything else!  What do you think of the apology?  Will you give them another chance down the road?

I think it is a well-written reply. They owed up to their mistakes. It’s wise of them to hold off billing and look into a solution for February subscribers.

It makes me wonder if in the beginning they were able to source items from France which proved to be expensive resulting them in purchasing lots from Alibaba or somewhere else. I think they will ultimately have to refund subscribers and reinvent themselves as a more expensive box to be sustainable or a bimonthly/quarterly box with a higher price point. I do hope that if there are future sub box owners out there reading this that they take in account of not undercharging their boxes which will allow them to sustain their vision without compromise.

However, I have my doubts about them being able to rectify the situation long-term based off of their own words – “a great challenge, ” “This premise has been difficult to sustain,” and the sentence that concerns me the most is “…we sent you two products that we did not verify and that should never have been sent had we been more vigilant.” That statement leads me to a lot of questions. Did they outsource the buying or packaging the products? How could they be unaware of the lipstick package condition?

I have health issues that necessitates trust in my beauty products and subscription boxes. I did end my sub last year and was hoping to resubscribe in April. I will not be returning as a customer regardless of the outcome.

I thought the same thing about that line “This premise has been difficult to sustain”. That didn’t sound good at all. And I agree, they should have known about the products. How did they not know? I don’t believe they outsource their packing. At least I didn’t think they did???

I had enjoyed the box, with the exception of feb, of course. Im a bit sad over this because it would seem that the same cool boxes will be no longer without being charged more or the company discontinuing. So after their feb box recovery plan goes in motion, if its not good, ill prob switch to Klover. I hadve been holding off getting more subs now. Its a shame. This box had such pretty presentation and was enjoyable. But as anither subscriber put it all the pretty packaging in the world cant hide cheap products

It sounds like they got in over their head. Maybe they should go to quarterly.

That is exactly it! When the box itself is the best part of a month, that’s a problem!

I just find it unbelievable that someone in authority never saw the intended products nor the final package prior to shipment. What kind of oversight, management, quality control do they have in place? It appears none. The email is nice but it still deflects the obvious problem onto another party.

I don’t believe them at all. And if that would be true, they should not be allowed to run a company because that would be unacceptable. I have never heard of a company not checking their final product, that would be absurd.

I don’t really get that either. How did no one notice that but every subscriber noticed right away? I still haven’t gotten my box yet by the way!

pretty disappointed as this was my first and quite possible last box. I cant even believe this was able to happen, and exacty as was stated above a great challenge?!! and no ingredients or anything with the bath product.
