Julep Lucky Mystery Box

My Julep Lucky Mystery Box arrived today!  I wasn’t expecting it to come so soon, but there it was on my porch the afternoon.  I told you it was a good mail day!

Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service (they also have nail salons in the Seattle area), but every once in a while they offer Mystery Boxes as well.  The Julep Lucky Mystery Box was $24.99 and promised to feature $100 worth of items including two new exclusive shades the hunter green Darby (Boho Glam), and mixed metal shimmer Dawnelle (Boho Glam)!

The Box

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post.  My box took just a few days to arrive to me.  The tracking said it would arrive Friday, but it actually arrived two days sooner than that.

Julep Mystery Boxes don’t include an information card (my packing slip said I received version 1 of the Mystery Box), but my box included the following items:

~Darby (Boho Glam) ($11.20 / $14): Darby is a described simply as a hunter green.  It’s actually a gorgeous glitter that reminds me of the Wizard of Oz.  The polish looks almost grey, but when the light hits it you see these gorgeous emerald green sparkles. This polish is a Mystery Box exclusive and isn’t available on their site, so I used the standard polish prices for it.

~Marion – It Girl: Marion is a smoky blue with silver shimmer.  It’s actually a color I don’t own and I love it.  I wish that Julep would state what collection this polish was originally in because I would love to know how I missed this.

~Catrina – It Girl ($11.20 / $14): Catrina is a marigold yellow crème.  I already own this polish (it’s from the September 2014 Collection) but I have hooked A LOT of my friends on Julep and they will love this.  I need to give yellow polishes more of a chance.  I always think they are too wild for a full set, but why not?

~Dawnelle – Boho Glam ($11.20 / $14): Dawnelle is a mixed metal shimmer and was the other Mystery Box exclusive.  I see a lot of copper in it, but depending on how the light hits it (and probably depending on what your base color is) you can see silver and gold as well.

~Camille – Classic With a Twist ($11.20 / $14): Camille is a full coverage opalescent white multi-dimensional glitter.  I originally received in the Spring 2013 Mystery Box and love it just as much now as I did then.  It reminds me of the movie Frozen. It’s so pretty.

~Go Big Volumizing Mascara ($19.20 / $24): I like Julep’s mascara, but I have a friend who is OBSESSED with it.  Like obsessed.  So I am going to pass this one along to her.  I’d specifically tell you what she likes about it, but she likes IT ALL!

~Clean Slate Polish Corrector Pen ($8 / $10): Okay, I have this pen and I like it, I do, but I think I may be using it wrong.  Or I paint my nails wrong. I need to deep these into nail polish remove to get more on the tips.  It’s totally possible that I just make too much of a mess for these to fix?

~Shamrock Nail Stickers (~$5): I went for these as an add-on to my March box, so I will be passing this along to a friend as well.  I obviously like them though because I did add them on to my box.

All totaled I came up with a total value of $109 for the Julep Lucky Mystery Box.  That’s using non-Maven pricing, but even with Maven pricing it’d be a steal.  The box was only $24.99, so the contents were over 4x the cost.  If you are interested in picking one up, they are still available, but only for the next few days so grab one now!  You can use the coupon code “GETCOLOR” to get a FREE full-pried Julep polish with your order of $15+  so make sure to add one to your cart and then apply the code at checkout.  I used the code to add the February Birthstone Polish for free which makes the value of the box even better.
