My Birchbox “Lovely Day” box arrived yesterday! The box, which is one of Birchbox’s Limited Edition boxes, is $62 and promises to have a value of $180+. It was originally billed as the Mother’s Day box, but somewhere along the way the name was changed to Lovely Day.
Birchbox ships uses a variety of methods. I opted for UPS, but they also use USPS and I believe they have a second day overnight option available.
Birchbox Limited Edition boxes are always so gorgeous. If you wanted to give this with just a card and not wrap it you’d be more than fine.
Birchbox always releases the contents of their limited edition boxes when they go on sale (sometimes even before they go on sale), but it’s still fun to open everything up and see it in person.
The Birchbox “Lovely Day” Limited Edition box includes the following items to help you add a little gloss and gussy to your daily rituals:
~Living proof.® Perfect hair Day® (PhD) Night Cap Overnight Perfector ($7): I am super intrigued by this. You put it on at night and then leave it on your hair while you sleep. Then you can wash it out when you shower in the morning or leave it in and style as usual. Either way it’s supposed to leave your hair smooth, glossy and with fuller strands. I want to wait until after I get a haircut to try this but I cannot wait.
~Jouer Hydrating Lipstick (Meg) ($24): The colors of the lipsticks vary, but I ended up with Meg which is absolutely perfect for me. It’s a super light, shimmery peach. Totally gorgeous. It goes on smoothly and leaves the perfect amount of color. I’m not a big lipstick fan and I love this.
~Illume Go Be Lovely Demi Perfume (Coconut Milk Mango) ($14): Scents on this will also vary, but I received Coconut Milk Mango and it’s fantastic. It’s like being on vacation without even leaving your house. I can’t stop sniffing my hand.
~Cargo Powder Blush (Cannes) ($26): I have a very similar blush to this already (shades you receive will vary on this as well), but it’s really pretty. I love that the color isn’t too deep or bright. It’s great for Spring.
~Davines Anti Aging Hand Cream ($14): I can’t really describe what this smells like, but I am not a huge fan. It is described as having a “fresh, subtly floral scent”, but I don’t smell a ton of floral. It’s more baby powder’ish to me? Anyway, I like the lotion itself and happily the scent is not too strong so it’s a win.
~Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($26): I am using a different serum right now, but I want to test this one out as soon as it’s finished. I heave tried a few Caudalie products and have always been impressed. This one fades dark spots, evens out the and leaves skin luminous.
~Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polishes in Mayfair Lane and Porchester Square ($30): These polishes have a gel look to them, but don’t require soaking off like salon gel polishes. I would have gone for some brighter colors if I were picking this out for myself, but these shades do fit the theme of the box nicely.
~Greenleaf Bella Freesia Candle Tin ($10): This candle has notes of freesia, amber and white tea. And it’s amazing. It’s like no candle I have smelled before. This scent would also make an gorgeous perfume.
~Rituals Foaming Shower Gel (Hammam Delight) ($3.75): This is fun! I had so much fun testing it actually I forgot to take a picture of it. Oops. It foams when mixed with water and smells great. It comes out of the container fast though, so be careful.
~Harney and Sons Fine Tea Wrapped Sachets ($3.84): I am not a fan of tea so I will be passing these along to my cousin. I do like that they included a ton of different flavors though.
All totaled I came up with a value of $158.59 for the Birchbox Limited Edition: Lovely Day box. The website says the value is $180+, so it must be how I valued some of the sample sizes versus how they did. For $62 though this is a steal! I am totally thrilled with this and think this is one of my favorite Limited Edition birchbox boxes. If you are interested in ordering it, you can use one of the following coupon codes:
