The LE Duo Box by Lillian Eve is a monthly nail polish subscription box delivering artisan nail color to your door. Each box includes 2 debut, surprise polishes by Lillian Eve and can be purchased as a monthly subscription or as a one-time box. Polishes are 5-free and are formulated to last without harmful toxins, animal by-products, or animal testing.
Lillian Eve ships via USPS and takes just a few days to arrive. The April box ships on 4.28.15, however, I received mine early for review purpose.
This was my first ever Lillian Eve box. I am not total sure how long they have been offering a subscription service (it hasn’t been long I know that), but I know that Lillian Eve was formerly known as Poppy Nail polish.
The April 2015 Lillian Eve box theme was “Spring Chic” and included the following items:
~Midnight Chic ($12): Midnight Chic is a very pretty almost royal blue. It’s a tad shimmery and it certain lights looks like it has a little purple in it. I thought the formula on this one was great, but I would totally need two coats of it to do my nails. That isn’t saying much though since I always need two coats of polish!
~Spring and Simple ($12): I would describe this one as silver. I am sure there is a much fancier description out there, but it’s silver to me. It has maybe a hint of green and seems to be a bit more matte than the blue.
~Luxury Hand Creme Sample: I’m always happy to get a hand cream sample and used it right away. I liked the formula, but I’m not so sure about the scent. It says online it’s fragrance free, so maybe I just don’t like the smell of Aloe and Jojoba, which is what the website says it’s made out of? It made my hands feel great though.
All totaled I came up with a value of $24 for the April 2015 Lillian Eve box. The box is $12.99/month so it’s really like you buy one polish and get one free. Not a bad deal at all. While I liked the consistency of the polishes I didn’t really feel like they were Spring polishes. They seemed more winter like to me. I would like liked to see more pastels like they have featured here.
What do you think of Lillian Eve? The website indicates that if you subscribe now you will receive a free Welcome Box now and then your April box which ships on the 28th of the month. I couldn’t find out what this Welcome Box includes, so if anyone knows I would love to hear it!
