Stitch Fix April 2015 Subscription Box Review
Stitch Fix April 2015 Subscription Box

My April 2015 Stitch Fix, which is a personal styling service for women, is here. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

For the first time ever my Stitch Fix shipped from somewhere other than San Francisco.  I had heard that Stitch Fix had different warehouse locations in the US, but this is the first time I had ever received a box from one of them.

I may not always love everything Stitch Fix sends, but I have to say, they do try and introduce some bright colors and patterns to my wardrobe!

The Information Sheet

Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $260 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $180 (plus my $20 styling fee and that is taking into account the 25% discount you get for buying all of the pieces).  Here are the pieces I received:

~Bancroft Cole Cut Metal Oval Earrings ($32): These are cute, but they aren’t my style.  I don’t wear dangly earrings so no matter how cute they are I won’t get any use out of them. Verdict: Returned.

~Gilli Alina Mixed Geo Print Maxi Skirt ($58): I love the pattern on this skirt and it’s a total keeper.  I peeked at my Fix before it arrived and saw that I was getting a Maxi skirt and just assumed it was a cotton one.  However, this is a polyester (96%) / spandex (4%) blend so it’s a little dressier and feels silky!  Verdict: Kept.

~Skies Are Blue Kaia Crochet Trim Top ($54): I love everything about this.  Except the price!  The color is fantastic, the lace detail on the shoulder is great and it’s a perfect Spring shirt.  But I don’t know that it’s a $54 shirt?  Verdict: Undecided.

~Daniel Rainn Adley Crochet Trim Blouse ($68): If it’s possible this shirt is even boxier in person that it looks on the picture.  Whatever body type you need to wear this isn’t mine!  Had the cut been different I probably would have kept it though because I do like the detail on the neckline and the fabric. Verdict: Returned.

~Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Heathered Dolman Top ($48): I don’t dislike this, but I don’t really like it either.  It’s just kind of there.  The only time I would probably wear it is around the house and I don’t think I need a $50 shirt for that though.  Verdict: Returned.

I think I am only keeping one of the items in my fix this month, but that’s totally fine with me because I love it!  I have always said that I am happy so long as I find at least one piece I love in my Fixes!  I’d hate to lose the $20 styling fee and I think in all of the 19 fixes I have received this has only happened once!
