Birchbox “Elevate Everyday” May 2015 Subscription Box

My (second) May 2015 Birchbox is here! If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox, which is $10/month, offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes and get some complete steals (which I try to do).

The Box

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month.

The Cupcakes & Cashmere Birchbox

The May 2015 Birchbox was a collaboration with Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere and included picks to bring out-of-the-ordinary elegance to your daily routine.

The Information Card

My May 2015 Birchbox contained the following items:

~Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional ($4.23): I love the POREfessional!  I have gotten in previous boxes and it’s awesome.  It’s lightweight and totally smooths out skin as promised.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional

~Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel (~$3): This was my sample choice from this month.  I was worried it would be harsh, but it didn’t bother my skin at all.  And it really did remove that icky skin.  I am using my points for the full size of this!

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel

~Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel ($3.39): I haven’t tried this gel quite yet (my skin revolts when I sample too many new products at once), but it is supposed to perk up your complexion.  I tried it on my hand and it felt nice and cool going on.

Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel

~Mally Beauty Evercolor Automatic Eyeliner ($18): I already gave this to a friend and somehow forgot to take a picture of it.  I’m never overly excited about eyeliner, but she loved it!

~Living proof.® Restore Shampoo, Conditoner & Instant Repair Lotion (~$8): I love getting hair product samples in subscription boxes, but I am overloaded from the Nina Garcia quarterly box right now. I might use it in my travel bag because it’s a great size and I tend to forget smoothing creams like this.

Living proof.® Restore Shampoo, Conditoner & Instant Repair Lotion

All totaled I came up with a value of $36.62 for my May 2015 Birchbox. Including the points I get for purchasing the box (10 points = $1 to spend at Birchbox) and reviewing / sharing the items in the box (90 points = $9), the value increases to $46.92.  I can never complain about an 8 item Birchbox!

Have you gotten your Birchbox yet this month? What’d you think?  If you are interested in subscribing new customers can use the coupon code “BB50OFF” to save 50% (or $5 off Men’s) off a new Birchbox subscription!
