Yuzen Summer 2015 Subscription Box Review
Yuzen Summer 2015 Subscription Box

Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season.  Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.  Yuzen was previously a monthly subscription box but switched to quarterly a while back.  I like the quarterly format of this box better than monthly.

The Box

Yuzen ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two business days to arrive.  I like that they use Priority Mail and I LOVE that they ship ahead of the season so you can get prepared.

As usual Yuzen was perfectly packaged and looked amazing.  They actually changed up their packaging a bit with this summer box.  Previously they put the organza bag into a smaller Yuzen box inside the cardboard box, but they discontinued that to help reduce their carbon footprint.  It looked pretty, but they are right, it wasn’t necessary.

The Information Card

The Summer 2015 Yuzen included the following items to explore and discover:

~Aromaflage Botanical Fragrance & Insect Repellant (~$5): We actually received this same item in last summer’s Yuzen box. I never ended up picking up the full-size bottle, so another sample of it is okay with me.  Like I said last year, it’s not the best smelling perfume out there, but it’s the best smelling bug spray!

~Aromafloria Muscle Soak Ocean Mineral Bath Salts ($3.13): This is probably more of a B item than a “me” item.  Although, it does sound like it’d be fabulous so maybe I will use it while B is gone.

~Hugo Naturals Vanilla and Sweet Orange Shower Gel ($2.99): This shower gel smells awesome.  And not only that, it’s cruelty-free, vegan and contains no paragons, petroleum, sulfates or synthetic fragrances or colors.

~Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Firming and Tightening Serum ($13): I know I have gotten some Jurlique in subscription boxes in the past, but I don’t believe I have ever received this specific formula.  I know this won’t make my skin break out, so I will throw it in my bag for traveling.

~Lasting Smiles Organic Peppermint Creme Lip Balm ($4.99): This lip balm is made from ingredients sourced from small-scale global farming initiatives.  Also, every 1,000 lip balms sold funds one life-changing cleft-lip surgery for a child in need.  So not only do you get a fantastic lip balm, you are supporting great causes as well.

~Shea Moisture Zanzibar Marine Complex Replenish & Rejuvenate Hand Cream ($5.39): I see this brand at Target all the time but for whatever reason, I never grab it. The hand cream is really nice though.  It’s thick, but it rubs in quickly.

~Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer (~$4): I am guessing there were a variety of colors of this sent out, but this hot pink is totally me.  When I change my polish on my toes I am going to change it to this.

~Suntegrity 5-in-1 Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen ($4.95): This is a tinted sunscreen / BB cream and I love it.  It’s perfect for summer when you need sunscreen and want something, but not too much on your face.

~Torie & Howard Meyer Lemon & Raspberry Organic Hard Candy ($4.99): Yuzen seems to be big fans of Torie & Howard hard candy which is a good thing because I am too. I always have a tin of these in my purse and they are so good.  They are only 12-calories each too!

All totaled I came up with a value of $48.44 for the Summer 2015 Yuzen box.  It’s more than the cost of the box, however, the value seemed a little low in comparison to other Yuzen boxes?  Still, I think they do a fabulous job with their selections and I am pretty happy with this one.

I love Yuzen. The last box was great. I can not quite put my finger on what i didnt love about the summer box but overall i did not love this one. I saw the preview video and was going to cancel and forgot. Im not unhappy in anyway, just didnt need anything in this box.

I LOVE this box! Yuzen does such a great job curating brands I have never heard of and think it is a great selection. I will use all the items they have included. Despite removing the inner box they still provide the best presentation. Thank you Yuzen for delivering me some needed Zen!

I got my box today and like it because all of the items are things I can immediately put to use. The bug repellent, the sunscreen, lotion, serum and candy -YUM! We are planning our summer vacations and I will be outside a lot so those items will go to good use. The nail polish is a good travel size as is the lip balm that always is handy.
