I am not a prepper (that not that should surprise anyone), but I do like learning from boxes like this.

The Information Card

The June 2015 Prepper Gear Box included the following items:

~FireStash Miniature Lighter – WaterProof ($12.99) You can hang this on your keyring and you’ll be ready to light a fire whenever you need it.  I don’t even think you’d to be a prepper to appreciate this.  It’s just a cool item!

~Morakniv Companion Knife ($15.67): I have never gotten a knife (other than a kitchen knife) in a subscription box before!  At least I don’t think I have.  It’s sharp (obviously), sturdy and comes with a shield for storage. I should have used to this when I was in a fight with some weeds on the side of the house.  The weeds won and my arm / hand lost.

~Tactical Pen with Glass Breaker ($17.50): This pen is made out of aircraft aluminum and, well could be used as a weapon too if need be.  I think it’s supposed to be able to break glass too (which I so badly want to test).  Pretty handy!

~Bonus Item: Miniature FireSteel & Firecord Paracord Zipper Pull: As a bonus, Prepper Gear included a miniature FireSteel and Firecord to help you make a lightweight fire building kit. The cotton ball is to be used as tinder.  The idea is to put the miniature firesteel into your wallet or bag and put the firecord paracord on your jacket. Inside the papa cord is an additional strand which is a flammable tinder!

~Skill Cards: These skill cards are to help you be prepared.  One is on the unique and useful uses of aluminum foil and another is a pressure point skill card and the final one is instructions on how to make a solar still.  One of the uses for aluminum foil is make a shelter.  I would never have thought of that, but I am certain my children would like to try this immediately.

Skill Cards

All totaled I came up with a value of $46.16 for the June 2015 Prepper Gear Box.  And that doesn’t include the value of the bonus items or the skill cards.    I actually thought everything in here was quite useful and thought it could be used by most people.

Do not deal with them. I ordered a box and they took 46 bucks out of my account and didn’t send anything. I contacted them only to find out that they neither intended to send anything or issue me a refund because the address was invalid. They didn’t even contact me! Only when I demanded a refund did they “send” the box and refuse to return my money even though it’s march and I didn’t receive a February box. Awful company. Don’t deal with them.
