My July Birchbox is here! If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox, which is $10/month, offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes and get some complete steals (which I try to do).

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month.  If my box happens to ship (or arrive) before then I just consider that a bonus!  I ordered some add-ons this month so my Birchbox actually shipped in a much larger box along with those items.

Since I have two accounts I generally opt for that month’s curated box on one account and opt for the standard Birchbox on the other account.  This review is on the July “Beachy & Bright” curated box.

The first look wasn’t overly exciting.  But with the curated boxes you know exactly what you will be receiving so I knew it was going to be better than it looked!

The July 2015 Beachy & Bright Birchbox featured the following items to help you achieve the bold colors and glowing skin that go hand in hand with summer.

~JUARA Radiance Enzyme Scrub ($3.66): This scrub works to minimize imperfections and leaves your skin “glowingly smooth”. I have been trying a ton of exfoliators and skincare products lately (probably too many) so I just tried this one on my hand.  It’s super gentle – not too gritty or harsh at all and left my hands amazingly soft.

~Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray ($10): My hair is super straight so I love to try any sort of texture products I can.  Oribe makes such great products and this one was no exception.  I sprayed it in my hair and not only did I get instant texture, it also left my hair shiny and smelling fabulous.

~Supergoop!® Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 ($8.87): Supergoop! is a Birchbox favorite.  I have actually tried this in the past and really like it.  I will throw this in my travel bag.

~stila look at me liquid lipstick (~$5): Wow.  This is bright. I read the description of it, but still hoped it would be more glossy than it was.  It’s not though.  It’s for sure a stain.  It goes on like a gloss, but that’s where the similarities end.  I need to figure out a way to tone this down because while I like the lasting power, it’s just too much on it’s own for me.

~theBalm® cosmetics Balm Desert® Bronzer/Blush ($2.61):  This color is perfection!  It’s a blush / bronzer in one and the mini size is perfect for traveling.

All totaled I came up with a value of $30.14 for the July 2015 “Beachy & Bright” Birchbox.  Including the points I get for purchasing the box (10 points = $1 to spend at Birchbox) and reviewing / sharing the items in the box (60 points = $6), the value increases to $37.14.  I loved this box! I am still totally loving having two Birchbox subscriptions too.  It’s more than worth it for me because I love getting both the curated box and the “regular” monthly bow!
