bluum July 2015 Subscription Box

bluum, is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.  I have gotten bluum for years and while the boxes have had their ups and downs I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription.

The Box

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive.  I generally plan on receiving it during the second half of the month.

bluum is one box that you can never peek at spoilers for. Even if you get the same age group box as anything subscriber, there is no guarantee you will get the same items as they do that month. The only real promise is that you won’t be sent the same items twice.

The Information Card

The card included in the bluum box doesn’t include product information. Rather, that information is sent to you in a e-mail on the day that you receive your box and in your account online as well.  WB’s July 2015 bluum box was for a 44 month-old (*) and included the following items:

~Melissa & Doug ABC Peg Puzzle ($7.19): Not only do we already have this, but we’ve had it for a few years now and WB’s outgrown it. I’d say it’s more of a puzzle for a two-year old than a preschooler. I thought this was an odd pick for this age group.

~Bumkins Dr. Suess T-Shirt ($14.95): I don’t know if I have ever gotten a t-shirt in a bluum box, but I love it! This is adorable and might be one of my favorite bluum box items ever.

~Child’s Play First Time – Doctor Book ($4.79): I love getting books, but I am not super excited about this one.  It’s okay and we’ll read it (it’s possible we already have this, but I don’t know where it is).

~Popsi Clean Drip-Free Popsicle Holder ($3.50): How perfect for summer!  I can’t wait for the ice-cream man to come by so we can test these out!

All totaled I came up with a value of $30.43 for the July 2015 bluum box.  This month was so-so for me.  I loved the Popsi Clean and the t-shirt, but the other items I was just meh on.

Did you get bluum this month?  What was in it and what’d you think?   If you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn more, click here.  And if you are a new customer, you can use the code “SPRINGHALF” to save half off your first box, making it only $14.50.

(*) It’s a long story, but we used to get bluum ages ago when they just did those smaller sample sized boxes for 0-12 month olds. When WB was about 9 months, bluum launched their current box for ages 1+ and was still doing the sample boxes for babies 0-12 months old. I wanted to check out the new, bigger boxes for WB, so I aged him up a few months so he was 1. And he’s still aged up!
