Julep Maven July 2015 Subscription Box – “The Drenched Collection”

Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.  Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes.  I finally decided to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription a few months ago so I am now able to customize my box.

The Box

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and took just a few days to arrive to me.

Second First Look

For the life of me I can never remember which were my add-ons and which were my actual selections for the month.  I knew it all looked good though!

The Information Card

The July 2015 Julep Maven boxes featured the “Drenched” Collection.  I opted for the following items:

~Lainey – Wonder Maven ($9.99 / $14): Lainey is a “summer berry shimmer”.  It’s probably my favorite color in the box, but it’s not the one I used first for some reason.

Lainey – Wonder Maven

~Julep – Your Cuticles Look Thirsty ($20): I usually just use a cuticle oil and not a cuticle creme, so I was excited to try this.  It rubbed in quickly and I could tell a different immediately.  It also didn’t leave my fingers greasy which I liked.

Julep – Your Cuticles Look Thirsty

~Mara (It Girl) ($9.99 / $14): Mara is a “thistle blossom stardust”. It’s…interesting. I am a complete sucker for different finishes on polishes so I “had” to try this.  It’s kind of got a sandy texture to it?  It’s not something I would use on all my nails, but it would be fun for an accent nail.

Add-Ons

~Poppy (Boho Glam) ($9.99 / $14): Poppy is a “chili pepper jelly”.  I love the look of the jelly polishes. It’s a more clear polish with a hint of color.  Well, more than a hint of it.  You can use as many (or as few) coats as you like but I generally use 2 or 3 because I don’t like to be able to see the whites of my nail through the polish at all.

Poppy (Boho Glam)

~Juliana (It Girl) ($9.99 / $14): Juliana is a “pink grapefruit sheer iridescent”.  Every time I look at it I see different colors in it.  It’s very pretty and very summery!

Juliana (It Girl)

~Alyssa (It Girl) ($9.99 / $14): Alyssa is a “beachside turquoise crème”.  I only wish I was on a beach with water this color right now!  I picked this one because it does scream beach / pool though!

Alyssa (It Girl)

~Ilsa (It Girl) ($14): Isla is an “ink blue crème”.  It was actually my free gift for taking 3 add-ons in this month’s box.  And oddly enough, it’s the polish I went for first! It’s possible I already have this color, but I opened it immediately and painted it on my nails. It could be a one coat color, but I used two coats just to smooth it out a little more. Love this color!

Ilsa (It Girl)

All totaled my July 2015 Julep “Drenched” box has a value of $39.98.  That’s using Maven pricing and doesn’t include the add-ons.  I am loved the collection this month and love that they offer a free gift when you get three add-ons!  The add-ons are inexpensive (I think they were $6 per polish) and are a great way to add to your collection!

Did you get a Julep Maven box this month? If you are a new subscriber you can use the coupon code “TREATMEto get a free 4-piece Treat Me Welcome Box. The box is a $63 value and includes three bright & beautiful summer shades (Sam, Polly and Denise), two buffer blocks and a Bonding Base Coat. You’ll pay $2.99 shipping, but for all those items, that’s a steal and a great way to try Julep!

Note: By taking advantage of this offer you will be enrolled in a monthly Julep subscription at a cost of $24.99/month.  You may cancel at anytime and you can skip months anytime after you purchase one month at the regular price.
