Sprouting Threads is a subscription based clothing service that gives the members options of frequency, quantity & assortment to meet their family’s needs. Members are also given the option to “rethread” (or send pieces back after their child outgrows them) for store credit. Keep what you like and return the rest. A $20 styling fee is refunded when keeping 2 or more new pieces. Prices vary depending on what is kept. Free shipping both ways.
Sprouting Threads ships via UPS and arrives in just a few days. You have 5 business days to try on the pieces. The box includes a bag with a prepaid return label so you can keep the pieces you love and return the ones you don’t.
I got this box for L, who is a 7 year-old boy, and couldn’t wait to see what they picked for him. I filled out the profile and selected more of a preppy style. I am pretty picky with the boys clothes so I hoped I was specific enough with them.
All Sprouting Threads boxes include a packing slip listing the prices of all of the items in the box. As I mentioned, if you keep at least two of the items in the box your $20 styling fee will be applied to those items. Here is what L received in his first Sprouting Threads box:
~Tooby Doo Ram Head T-Shirt ($28): I would have easily picked this shirt out on my own. It’s stylish, but at the same time it’s not overly trendy and I know it’s something that WB will be able to wear in a few years as well. The material is a soft sturdy cotton and will wash up perfectly.
~Tooby Doo Camo Cargo Shorts ($18): I opted for an “assorted” box which included half new items and half reThreads (i.e. previously worn) items. I wanted to see what the quality of the reThreads was like and how they were priced. I looked it up and these retail for about $40, so $18 is pretty reasonable. These were in excellent condition and I wouldn’t have necessarily known they were previously!
~Jack Thomas Button Down Short Sleeve ($20): This isn’t really something I would have picked out on my own, but L looked adorable in it. It was another reThread item and looked brand new to me.
~Appaman Cotton Shorts Back Zip Pocket ($22.40): These were actually my favorite item in the box. I always stick with the same khaki cargo shorts for L and these were a great change of pace. I never would have bought them on my own, but I am now on a search to get some in other colors. The fit was perfect and L said they were very comfortable.
All totaled my Sprouting Threads box totaled $88.40. Like I mentioned, if you keep at least two of the items your $20 styling fee will be deducted from your purchases. I was pleasantly surprised with their selections and may end up getting a few more of these boxes to help out with Back to School shopping. You can opt for monthly or seasonal deliveries and can get between 2 and 5 outfits per delivery (your choice) so it really is tailored to your needs.

Thank you for the wonderful write up! We are glad that you liked the clothing we picked and your son is adorable!
OMG your little dog is the cutest in that photo – I think he needs his own photo shoot lol
LOL! Buddy is a trip! He’s always near the kids. Always. He’s their little guard dog!
This is such a great idea. I keep getting the same clothes for the boys since we have no time to really go shopping right now so this might be a great change of pace for us.
I know right? I already ordered one for August!

Super cute outfits! However $88 for 4 kids items is a little steep, especially for a t shirt and shorts. I think I will stick with Gap’s insane online sales. Or even Tea collection with the additional 30 percent off would be better and their quality is excellent.
