Allure Beauty Box September 2015 Subscription Box Review
Allure Beauty Box September 2015 Subscription Box

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.  July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”.  Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box.

The Box

The Allure Beauty Box ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive.  I think they ship in batches because I know that some people’s boxes have yet to ship.

Inside

The September 2015 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Kaplan MD Cellular Rejuvenating Concentrate (3mL/0.10 fl.oz) ($17): My first thought was please do not let me fall in love with this because it’s $170 for 1 ounce.  Ouch!  I hate to admit it, but it made my skin feel like silk after I put it on.   It works to reduce wrinkles and increases collagen and you just need a tiny bit to cover your face.  I guess that makes it a tad more attractive knowing that the container will last for ages.

~Soap & Glory Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss in Pinkwell (4mL/0.13fl.oz) ($5.60):  I can’t say that this plumped my lips, but I thought the tingly part was fun.  The information booklet describes it like pop rocks on your lips and that’s pretty accurate. It didn’t hurt – it was just different.  The gloss itself is super shiny (and a little sticky) and smells like chocolate.  I pretty much love it.

~Tangle Teezer ($15): I have gotten a tangle teezer in a different box, but having an extra is okay with me. It really does work to detangle your hair and is easy to travel with.

~Alterna Replenishing Moisture Milk (0.85fl.oz/25mL) ($2.94): Moisture Milk is a leave-in deep conditioning spray that hydrates and adds shine to brittle hair.  I can always use more shine and I like the smell of this.  It’s like spraying a mojito in your hair.  But I think thats a good thing.

~PIXI by Petra Glow Tonic (15mL/0.5fl.oz) ($2.21): Toners are one of my favorite skincare products.  This one is alcohol-free and isn’t harsh like some I have tried.  It just made my skin feel clean.  Over time it works to brighten your complexion because of the glycolic acid  it contains.

~Erno Laszlo Firmarine Bar Soap (0.6fl.oz / 17g) ($5.09): This little bar of soap is adorable!  It’s for your face and works into a silky foam when you use it according to the card.  I have yet to test it out, but I do know I like the smell.

~Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener (7mL/.24fl.oz) ($6.78): This primer works to smooth skin and also absorbs excess oil. I actually like wearing primer alone or mixed with a little BB cream.

This was my first Allure Beauty Box. It came today before I even got the email saying that it had been shipped. I love it! I thought the same thing about the Kaplan product. I hope I don’t fall in love with it but I’m afraid that I will. Can’t wait for my next box.

I just signed up a week or two ago and already got my box today too! I got the shipping email after I received my box. I subbed to allure ‘sample society’ last year for a few months and didn’t like it. But this box was amazing, I liked all the scents in it, most excited about the tangle teezer and the one I got is purple and pink. I thought the lipgloss stung more than anything, didn’t feel like ‘pop rocks on my lips’ just kinda burned lol. But love that it smells like chocolate and goes on pretty sheer.

I love this box! I’m signing up…hope I get this months box

Great box. I wish I had gotten it.

    Good products, but I’m on a no-buy (I swear!).

Surprised that Erno Laszlo products show up on their own like this. Laszlo’s whole deal is that you must use their system (cleanse, tone, etc.) to see true results. I remember being “clocked” eons ago and had to use a card to purchase products (and could only buy those that fit my clock). I think they eased up on the clocking thing, but I remember a few years back that the products were still supposed to be used in unison.

So excited for the tangle teaser and pixi toner! I like it better than last months box!

I am so excited to get this months box. This will be my second one and it’s even better than the first. I love Allure Beauty Box. It’s way better than the other two boxes I receive.

Mine shipped on the 18th and I’m dying to know when it will arrive. There’s now delivery date on the tracking. Very excited!

I had problems with August shipment, received 2 boxes and was charged from 2 different billers.

Didn’t know the second biller, called the other biller and had no idea who conte naste was.

I contested at my bank and the $15 was refunded.

September came, no shipment, I tracked down the new company. They said my subscription had been canceled.

I didn’t complain to them about anything because I didn’t even know they were the new shippers, and my first box had leaking product, so I assumed the second was a replacement due to complaints.

I’m not happy about the new company.

Conde Naste is a major magazine publisher. They own Allure.
