Yay! My Birchbox Limited Edition: Gym Bag Heroes Box arrived today! The box, which is separate purchase from the monthly Birchbox subscription, features a collection of products to help you look fab while you make the most of your active lifestyle.
Birchbox ships a variety of methods, but this box arrived via UPS. I ordered this box on the day that it was released (Monday), it shipped Tuesday and arrived today (Thursday). That is pretty speedy if you ask me.
As with all of their limited edition boxes, the contents of the Gym Bag Heroes box were announced in advance. But there were / are variations so it’s always fun to see what items you received.
The Birchbox Limited Edition: Gym Bag Heroes Box included the following items:
~amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo (1oz / 43.9mL) ($9): I know some people aren’t overly fond of dry shampoo, but I love it. amika makes fabulous products and their dry shampoo is one of their best. It smells fantastic, doesn’t leave white residue and it actually works to remove the oil and refresh your hair.
~Avène Cleanance Soap-Free Gel Cleanser (50mL / 1.69oz) ($5): This cleanser is designed for oily, blemish prone skin, which is so me. I have used this in the past and I really liked it. I actually don’t know why I stopped using it? If it works well for me for the next few weeks (or until my sample runs out), I may end up getting the full-size.
~Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara (8mL / 0.29fl oz) ($24): I have been trying to not open up every single mascara I get right away (they dry out before I can use them up), but I just had to with this one. It’s in a soft tube which is unlike any other mascara I have ever tried. I prefer a flat mascara brush though, so I think this curved one may take some getting used to. Otherwise it’s great.
~Pointe Studio Socks ($24 – $12/pair): I LOVE grippy socks. One pair of these has the grips on the bottom and one doesn’t. These are obviously awesome for yoga or for not falling on your slippery kitchen floor. And they are cute too.
~SAGE & ROW bare shave cream (3.5oz / 100g) ($17): I am probably least excited about this item. Not because it’s not fabulous, because it seems like it is, but because I never use shave cream. I will pass it along to a friend though.
~Vapur Shades Anti-Bottle (18oz) ($9.99): These “anti-bottles” are totally portable this one has a great design. I do need to figure out the best way to wash them though. I never can get them to dry fully. Maybe I am just being impatient and need to wait longer? Any tips?
~theBalm® cosmetics Stainiac (8.5g / 0.3oz) ($17): Staniac is amazing. You can use it on your cheeks and/or lips and it leaves you with a gorgeous rosy glow. I have long been a fan of this and love that this box included the full size.
~Banded Splash Headband ($9.98): I already have this on. The inside of this is a soft velvet (?) material so it feels good on and the elastic part is comfortable and doesn’t squeeze your head. And it really keeps your hair in place without slipping. I’m already a huge fan!
~Joha Stripes Earbuds with Mic ($7.95): I can’t find a website for Joha, but I saw them being sold on Amazon for $7.95, so I went with that as my price. They will work well as a spare pair, but I didn’t think they were overly comfortable for everyday use. Also, I should mention that while these aren’t listed on the information card, however, they are listed in the box contents on the website.
All totaled I came up with a value of $123.92 for the Birchbox Limited Edition: Gym Bag Heroes Box box. According to the Birchbox website it has a value of $137, but I am guessing the difference is from the way I valued the earbuds vs. how they did. They don’t give a breakdown, but that’d be about the only item that would be different. Anyway, I loved this box. It had cute and useful items and even two of my all-time favorites (the amika and the Stainiac).

Store the water bottle in the freezer. It’s so much easier than struggling to dry them and it will never grow mold from being damp in there.
