Julep Fuchsia Fizzy Mystery Box (+ Add-Ons)

My Julep Fuchsia Fizzy Mystery Box has arrived!  I ordered it last week (the day it launched) and also selected a few add-ons with my box.  I ordered the August Birthstone Polish (Betsey) plus the Summer Mystery Set with “Queen Anne”.  Since I ordered a Mystery Set I really have no idea what items were part of the Mystery Set Add-On and what were part of the Mystery Box, so am going to review them all as one.

If you aren’t familiar, Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.

The Box

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post (starts out with FedEx and is delivered by USPS) and took just a short time to arrive.

First Look

I was drawn to this box by the two polishes I knew were included, but I was thrilled when I opened it up and saw a bunch of other amazing items.  Here is what was included:

~Trisha (Bombshell): Trisha is a honeycomb jagged glitter top coat.  I actually put this on my nails (alone) today and really like it. I think it would look better as a topcoat, but it was a fun change of pace to just use a few coats of this.  It’s a mix between copper and orange and is very eye-catching.

Trisha (Bombshell)

~Jenny (Classic With A Twist): Jenny is a cerise with gold micro shimmer.  I not only love the name, but I also love the color.  The hint of gold is awesome and I will be using this with the Fizzy topcoat the next time I do my nails. I didn’t take an individual picture of it, but the Mystery Box also included vine nail decals in gold.  I may or may not end up using those.

Jenny (Classic With A Twist)

~Connie (Classic With A Twist): Connie is a hot magenta plum crème and somehow I do not already own this color.  I found it to be way thin for a creme though.  It’s more like a jelly and will take at least three coats for full nail coverage.  The color is gorgeous though.

Connie (Classic With A Twist)

~Mariska (Classic With A Twist): Mariska, which dates back to the April 2014 collection, is a juicy tangerine shimmer.  I actually already own this color so I will be passing it on to my Julep obsessed friend.  This *might* be the perfect orange polish.

Mariska (Classic With A Twist)

~Lee (It Girl): Lee is a spitfire red crème.  This is a true creme and has orange undertones.  It is from the May 2015 and it’s one I have used multiple times already.

Lee (It Girl)

~Queen Anne (It Girl): Queen Anne is a “lilac confetti micro glitter” and was made to celebrate Julep’s third birthday in August 2014. It works nicely as a top coat or alone, but since I already have one of my own I will be passing this one along as well.

Queen Anne (It Girl)

~Betsey (Peridot for August): Betsey is a peridot birthstone iridescent shimmer.  It was named after designer Betsey Johnson who was born on August 10th.  I am not sure why I added this one to my cart and actually don’t remember doing it (although I am sure I did). It’s much brighter online than it is in person.  I found it to be a brownish / grayish green instead the bright green I saw online.  The formula is amazing though!

Betsey (Peridot for August)

~Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil: I really like Julep’s dry oil and was happy to see it in here.  It smells good and doesn’t leave you all oily.

Julep Beach Tonic

~Julep Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum: I have been using this serum for ages and love it.  It’s in pen form so you just turn the bottom and the serum appears in the brush part.  Watch out though and don’t turn it super fast because you could end up with WAY too much serum coming out if you aren’t careful.

Julep Cuticle Serum

~Julep Iconic Brow Gel: This keeps your brows in place AND helps them grow.  I don’t necessarily want my brows to grow faster right now, but there have been times I have over-plucked and would have loved it. This does a nice job of keeping them in place though which I do love.

Julep Iconic Brow Gel

I didn’t do an individual cost breakdown on this box / add-ons, but I think it’s clear I got my money’s worth. I paid a total of $41.17 ($56.17 – $15 Coupon Code) for everything pictured.  The polishes alone had a value of $98 ($14 per polish x 7 polishes)!  I love Julep’s Mystery Boxes and if I didn’t already have SO many polishes I would get them every time they are offered.  I think  they are a great way to try Julep and grow your polish collection.

Did you order a Julep Fuchsia Fizzy Mystery Box?  What’d you think?  If you didn’t order, there’s still time because they are available through 11:59 PST TODAY (8.16.15)!  Boxes are $24.99 and you can use the coupon code “ALLYOURS” to save $15 on a $30+ order! Add $15 worth of products to your cart and then apply the code at checkout.
