Birchbox “From Korea, With Love”

Eeek!  My Birchbox “From Korea, With Love” Collection arrived yesterday!  This kit, which is separate from the monthly Birchbox subscription, was $35 and included a selection of Korean Beauty products.

The Box

Birchbox ships a variety of methods, but this box arrived via UPS.  The box arrived in a largest box with this adorable box inside. When the packaging is this cute, you basically know what’s inside is going to be fabulous.

As with all of their Limited Edition Boxes / special collections, you know what’s coming in the box so opening it isn’t a surprise. Korean beauty products have the absolute best and most creative packaging though, so opening this box was extra fun.

The Information Card

The Birchbox “From Korea, With Love” collection included the following products from some of K-Beauty’s most wanted brands:

~CLIO Waterproof Pen Liner Kill – Black ($22): The information card describes this eyeliner “like writing with a felt tip pen” and that’s exactly what I thought.  It’s SO smooth and so “even” in coverage that you so could use it to write a letter.  Also, it dries super quickly, so you don’t have to worry at all about smudging.

~IPKN Twinkle Lips – Glow Pink ($18): This goes on sheer and then reacts to the natural chemistry of your lips to create a color all your own.  Mine turned a nice, but still sheer’ish pink and I found it to be very pretty. I also thought it was moisturizing and very balm like.

~Tonymoly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk (Sample): I totally expected my hands to smell like bananas after using this, but they didn’t.  I am not sure if that’s good or bad.  It smelled of banana when I first pout it on, but once it dried the scent was gone and I was left with soft smooth hands.

~Tonymoly Panda’s Dream Brightening Eye Base ($12): Stop it.  How cute is this guy?  You can use it alone to help look more alert and brighten up dark circle or you can pair it with concealer.  I was quite happy with it alone and will toss this one in my purse for when I am out running around.

~Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara ($25): Again, the packaging!  It’s amazing.  And really, so is this mascara. It aims to lengthen, plump and curl and I thought it did all of those things well.  It didn’t clump and I didn’t have any issues with smudging.  The dinosaur on the mascara tube is just an added bonus.

~Too Cool for School Egg Cream Mask ($4.80): This mask is formulated with egg yolks to moisturize and egg whites to tighten pores, control oil and melt away blemishes.  I haven’t gotten a chance to use this, but I am already planning on buying more. I think I need to use one of these masks a week for a month and see how they really work.

~Mystery Sample Pack: My Mystery Sample pack (free with a $35+ purchase) included a sample of Vasanti Brighten Up (20g) ($5.67) which I love and a Birchbox * L. Erikson Grab & Go Pony (I think).  I loved this sample pack and always always make sure I spend enough to score one of the free!

All totaled I came up with a value of $81.80 for the Birchbox “From Korea, With Love” collection. I couldn’t have been happier with this and would love to see more of the K. Beauty boxes from Birchbox!
