BarkBox October 2015 Subscription Box Review - + Coupon Code
BarkBox October 2015 Subscription Box Review

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. All treats included in the boxes are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, so you can be assured that your pet is only getting safe, high-quality items. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an additional toy to your box for an extra $9/month. We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.

The Box

BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail (starts out with DHL and is delivered by the Post Office) and took just a few days to arrive this month. I generally expect it to arrive on or around the 20th of the month.

This month’s box was larger than normal and when I looked inside I realized one.  One of the toys was huge!

The Information Card

My information card didn’t have a theme stated on it, but it seemed Halloween themed to me.  Here’s what was included:

~BarkMade Peek-A-Boo-Hoo ($15): How cute is this owl?  I think this is a BarkBox exclusive.  It’s nearly the size of my dogs (well almost) and we all love it.

BarkMade Peek-A-Boo-Hoo

~Bocce’s Bakery Chicken Treats ($3.39): The information card values these at $10, however you can buy a 14oz bag online for $9.50 so I am not sure where the $10 value for the 5oz bag we received is from?  These biscuits are all natural and contain human-grade chicken, pumpkin, oat flour and rosemary.  I think I will give these to my brother’s dogs.  They like crunchy treats like this.

~Etta Says PB Go Treats ($1.99): Ohh, these treats are perfect for my little guys.  They are little, which my dogs love and they are packed with protein.  The container is great to throw in your purse and take to the dog park.

~Sawmill Creek Smokehouse Half Pig ($3): There is currently a giant battle in my house over this.  I don’t know which dog has it right now, but there’s a lot of growling and chasing each other around the house.  They love it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $23.38 for the October 2015 BarkBox. Just like last month, the value on this one was pretty low – lower than normal.  I am also not sure what is up with the pricing discrepancies the past few months. BarkBox has been around for ages though and sends out high quality products, so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt on it.  Maybe they are included shipping in some of their prices (I don’t)?

Do you subscribe to BarkBox?  What’d you think of this month’s box?  If you want to subscribe or learn more, click here. A monthly subscription is $29/month, but if you opt for a longer subscription, the price drops as low as $18/month (that’s what I get)!  And you can use the code “RAMBLING” to save 15% off ANY subscription plan!
