Dottiebox October 2015 Subscription Box

Dottiebox is a box curated every month for women. They feature high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands. They offer their standard Dottiebox which is $26/month and a Dottiebox Mini subscription, which is $13/month. This review is for the full-sized Dottiebox and the Dottiebox Mini review will come later on in the month.

The Box

Dottiebox ships via USPS First Class Mail and takes just a few days to arrive to me.  The full-size Dottiebox generally ships in the first half of the month with the Dottiebox Mini shipping in the later half of the month.

Second First Look

The first (and second) look didn’t reveal much!  I actually missed something in this box when I was unpacking it and almost tossed it, so always make sure to check in the packing materials.

The Information Card

The October 2015 Dottiebox included the following items:

~Actual Film Cell Votive Candle ($12): Well, how cool is this? It’s an actual 35mm film cell from the movie The Wizard of Oz (which happens to be one of my favorites).  There is only one film cell like this in the world which means no two votives are alike.

~Black Dahlia Lacquer (Sapphire Sky) ($7): I can’t find this exact color on the website, but it’s a gorgeous sparkly blue.  Black Dahlia polishes are 5-free (free of camphor, toluene, formaldehyde, DBP and formaldehyde resin) and cruelty free and also made in small batches.

~Dream Villow Studio Charm Bracelet ($16): Oh, I love this.  It’s simple, but stylish.  I can’t find this exact bracelet online, but I did some browsing on their site and found some really cute ornaments which would make for great gifts.

~Posh Skincare Clay Mask (0.5oz) ($4): This mask is designed for oily and sensitive skin to remove any impurities and tighten your pores.  I used it in the shower today and can definitely feel my skin is tighter.  It also feels smoother than usual.

~Dottiebox DIY Fall Banner ($12): This isn’t a total DIY project, but you do have to string the twine through the holes in the letters. Mine got all frayed so I ended up cutting it to make it fit better.

All totaled I came up with a value of $51 for the October 2015 Dottiebox.  I think 2015 has been a great year for Dottiebox and can only hope the trend continues in November and December!

Did you get a Dottiebox this month?  What’d you think? And did you get any variations?  If you are hoping to get this box, you are in luck because it’s still available, as is the October Dottiebox Mini!!!  If you are interested in ordering or just want to learn more, click here.

Yea, $12 for twine and paper letters that you have to string together yourself? No thank you. The rest of the box seems just OK, at least more inline with the prices listed. The price of the “banner” sort of discounts the whole box for me though.

Every single time I looked at it, I thought that banner said “FAIL”!!! I thought it was maybe like a banner for a Pinterest Fail? LOLLL!!!

The votive holder is awesome! Makes me wish I still received this box and not just the Dottiebox Mini
