GLOSSYBOX kindly sent me their October 2015 box to review early and I am so excited to share it! GLOSSYBOX is a monthly beauty subscription box and includes five luxury surprise beauty items shipped to your door. I have been a subscriber for years (in addition to getting review boxes I also pay for a subscription) and am always in awe at the value they pack into their boxes.
GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS and generally boxes ship in the second half of the month (as I mentioned I received this one early for review purposes). Sometimes it’s the last week of the month, sometimes it’s closer to the 20th of the month and sometimes it’s around the 10th. You just never know.
So this box. I.love.it. The detail on the artwork is incredible and it’s just so fun and beautiful. I will be keeping this box and doing something with it. I mean how could you not?
Since I received an early review box I went into it totally spoiler free. That doesn’t happen too often for me, but I really do love when it does. I was happy with this first look. The products looked to all be a good size which made me happy.
The October 2015 GLOSSYBOX, if you hadn’t guessed by now, French themed and was brimming with the following French beauty items.
~PHYTO Phytokeratine Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray (30mL / 1fl.oz.) ($12): This spray is used prior to styling and detangles, protects hair from heat and breakage and also works to prevent future damage. It smells incredible (it’s a very light floral) and left my hair feeling silky smooth. The bottle is tiny, but a little bit of this goes a long way. I should also mention that it is cruelty-free and is formulated without silicone or sodium.
~Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis (5mL / 0.17fl.oz) ($13.10): Incredible. I cannot stop smelling my wrists. Notes on this one include Bergamot and Lemon from Sicily, White Bouquet (Lily of the Valley and sweet mock orange) and Light and Musky Wood. It’s just so gorgeous. I will never buy it again (it’s $185 for 2.4oz), but I will use every single drop of this.
~NUXE Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals (75mL / 2.6oz) ($26): NUXE exfoliating gel is made with antioxidant-filled lychee, roses and ground walnut shells, all of which help exfoliate the skin and eliminate dead cells. It was not harsh at all and left my skin feeling very smooth and soft. I expected it to smell very floral, but this is not the case at all. It’s a very light floral scent.
~Lollipops Make Up Paris Nail Lacquer in “Voyage A Paris” (~$10): Now this is a RED polish! It’s from the Perisian clothing and accessory brand Lollipops which ventured into makeup a few years back. It’ more orange-red than blue-red, but it’s certainly RED! I put three coats on, but you could probably get away with two. I should mention that it’s not a “5 Free” polish or at least I don’t believe it is. It smells like, well, nail polish chemicals.
~De Bruyere Paris Red Lipgloss (.17oz / $17.50): This gloss is basically the same color as the above nail polish. I am going to update with a picture when I get some better lighting, but trust me, they are very similar. This gloss is very pigmented and lasted on my lips forever. It’s
All totaled I came up with a value of $78.60 for the October 2015 GLOSSYBOX. I don’t know how “French” it felt, but I loved the contents and the box itself? OMG. That is just so beautiful.
What do you think of this month’s GLOSSYBOX so far? Just a reminder, GLOSSYBOX has been sending out variations in boxes the last few months so don’t be surprised if your box is a little different than this one. I don’t know that it will be, but it might. If you want to snag this box, grab it soon because it’s probably going to sell out quite quickly.
