Julep October 2015 Subscription Box Review – “New York Never Sleeps” Collection

Julep is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.  Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes.  I finally decided to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription a few months ago so I am now able to customize my box.

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the month.

I always always get add-ons with my Julep box! I have found that you can’t beat the prices and I love having them included in my monthly shipment.

The Card

Julep featured the “New York Never Sleeps” collection in October and I customized my box to include the following:

~Autumn – Boho Glam ($11.20 / $14): Autumn is a burnt red/orange multidimensional glitter.  I guess one was featured a while back because it’s “back from the vault”, but I don’t recall ever having received it.  It could be worn alone, but it’ll show your actual nail because it’s not thick enough so I’ll wear a redd’ish polish underneath.

~Sigourney – It Girl ($11.20 /$14): Sigourney is a black holographic stardust. Now this needs nothing else underneath it. It’s actually like it looks in the bottle.  Black with a little glitter.  It’s super cool and very perfect for Halloween.

~Sherri – Wonder Maven ($11.20 / $14): Sherri is an opulent purple stardust. Stardust finish is kind of my new favorite.  The coverage is so nice and you cannot mess it up. You just cannot.

~Add-Ons (Ghostbusters Trio – Missy, Nicola & Brigitte, Poppy and Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops): This month I added on an assortment of items including a fun glow-in-the dark polish which actually does glow in the dark.  The Ta Da Drop quicks are one of my favorite Julep products.  I have purchased some other quick dry stuff, but this works best for me.  I think it’s the dropper I like so much. It makes it very easy to use.

~Bonus Gift: If you order 3 or more add-on’s Julep will send you a bonus gift!  I received a the below red polish. I wish I could remember the name, but I already put it away with all of my other red polishes, so all hope is lost on ever figuring that one out.

I am wearing Sherri right now on my fingers and toes. It is pretty (and chip-resistant — I’ve had it on since Sunday). But it is going to be tough to get off. I will have to break out the acetone.
