My October 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box has arrived! I have subscribed to POPSUGAR since they started and I have always loved them.
If you aren’t familiar with them, POPSUGAR Must Have Box is an exciting box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which is delivered to your door on a monthly basis. Boxes include full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover worth over $100!
POPSUGAR Must Have Box ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive. Some months it takes just four or five days, but this one took the full week. Also, this box seemed to ship later in the month than normal.
The first look wasn’t overly exciting this month. Probably because you couldn’t see too much from it. POPSUGAR generally releases a few spoilers while the box is still on sale and I always peek at full spoilers before my box arrives. I just can’t take the suspense and have to peek!
The October 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box was inspired by “Autumn, Restful Nights, Cozy, Irresistible and Breast Cancer Awareness” and included the following items:
~Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling ($15): Why Not Me is a collection of essays from Mindy Kaling about love, work, friendships, weight, etc. She’s super funny and I look forward to curling up and reading some of this tonight.
~Savvy Sleepers 100% Satin Pillow Case (Standard Size) ($36): I guess I never realized that pillowcases could prevent sleep wrinkles, hair breakage and salon blowouts, but I guess this pillowcase can. It’s not something I would ever buy on my own, but I am more than willing to give it a try and heck, maybe I will love it?
~Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set ($8): These I actually may have bought on my own had I found them at the store. They are a cute (and inexpensive) way to gift a bottle of wine. If you go to enough parties you know those fancy velvet wine bags add up! I mean you could just stick a bow on the bottle, but for a casual housewarming these would be great.
~Belgian Boys All Natural Stroopwafel ($1.59): Stroopwafels are amazing. They are caramel filled and were delicious with a cup of coffee in the morning. They are even better when you eat it warm which you can do by putting it on top of your steaming coffee cup. Delicious.
~Honest Company Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub ($16.95): I have used a lot of Honest Co. products, but I believe I have only used their sea salt scrub a handful of times. It’s made with whole grain sugars, sea salts, shea butter and almond oils. The consistency is like a thick(er) applesauce. The Lavender Vanilla scent is not overpowering and the scrub itself is very gentle.
~Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Sock ($15): This is probably silly, but these are my favorite item in the box. I love fuzzy socks and to have the grips on the bottom is even better. These were designed by POPSUGAR to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I should also mention that in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, POPSUGAR has made a donation to Right Action for Women, which is a charitable foundation started by actress Christina Applegate. They provide assistance to women who are at increased risk for breast cancer and do not have insurance or the financial flexibility to cover the high costs associated with breast screenings.
~Special Extra: Danielle Stevens Jewelry Monogram Gift Card ($40): This gift card is valid for any items in the “Personalized” section on the Danielle Stevens website. Items in the personalized section start at $48, but shipping is free. Since you do have to spend money to use this card I am not going to include it in my overall box value.
~Special Extra: It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product (2 fl.oz) ($9): This spray helps to add shine, detangle and stop frizz. I have gotten it in a few boxes and have always liked it. It works well and doesn’t weigh down hair.
All totaled I came up with a value of $101.54 for the October 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box. It wasn’t my favorite box from POPSUGAR, but it was a solid box and I will use everything in it.
What do you think of the October POPSUGAR Must Have Box? If you are a new subscriber you can use the coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” to save $5 off your first box. The October box is already sold-out, but you can subscribe now and get the November box, which is inspired by “Gratitude”, “Friends & Family”, “Festivities” and “Gifting” (you can check out a spoiler on that one here). If you want to try to get on the Waitlist to get the October box just make sure you leave the “Waitlist” box checked. If they determine they have extra boxes your subscription will begin with the above box, otherwise it will start in November!
My biggest pet-peeve is when subscription boxes send products that have “sample not for resale” stamped on them…
Interesting that they didn’t put anything Halloween themed in there. Remember last October? LOL!
I was kind of hoping that with the obvious delay, they were putting something awesome in the box, but I’m not wowed my anything in there. Except the book…I love the book and was about to buy it when I saw it was included this month.
Yes, those nail decals and the pumpkins balls? LOL! I REALLY liked the year before when we got a Halloween CrispyCake!
Yes! I forgot about that CrispyCake! That was soooooo good I started buying them on the regular.
This wasn’t my favorite box but I liked it better once I got it.
We tend to use flannel sheets in the winter and the flannel pillowcases so mess with my hair. My hairdresser years ago said he’d stop doing my hair if I slept another night on a flannel pillowcase. So in the winter I just use a regular pillowcase. Love this satin version, It will save my hair this winter (though I wish it was in more of a fall/winter color).
The Stroopwafle? Didn’t even make it to the end of the box opening. Love these things. Want more to have with my coffee. Alas my hips don’t lie and they tend to get bigger when I do crap like that, so I ate the Stroopwafles quickly so my hips wouldn’t notice.
All the other items are ones that I will actually use except the hair stuff which I will gift to one of my friends. Again, not the most amazing box, but solid.
OHHH, is that the secret? Just to eat things faster so your hips don’t notice? I am going to remember that ;).
The hair stuff is unbelievable. My frizzy thick hair was instantly silky and smooth without seeming heavy with product. It is the best!
