Target “L’Oreal Paris” Beauty Box

My Target “L’Oreal Paris” Beauty Box arrived over the weekend! This Target Beauty Box was $5 (they vary between $5 and $7) and was available through Target’s website for a limited time only. The “L’Oreal Paris” box was released on October 5th and sold out in about 24 hours.  It usually sells out in a few hours or less, so they must have had a much higher quantity of these. I am not sure if there is any set schedule on when they release boxes, but they offered them in April, June, July, August, September and October of this year.  And, according to the Target website, the next one is “coming soon”.  These are NOT subscription boxes and must be purchased individually as they are released.

The Box

Target Beauty Box ships via USPS and arrived just a few days after I ordered it. I can’t recall if I got tracking on this one or if it just appeared in my mailbox.

This box had more packets and smaller samples than most of the other Target Beauty Box boxes.  It’s still a great value though and a fun way to try new products so I knew I’d be picking it up.

The Information Card

The October 2015 L’Oreal Paris Target Beauty Box included the following items:

~L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara ($5.89): If I ever run out of mascara from subscription boxes (this rarely happens), I tend to buy drugstore brands.  They really do a great job and are (obviously) much less expensive.  The formula on this one is great and I didn’t find it to be clumpy at all. It did take a few coats to get a good amount of volume though.

~L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo (1.7fl.oz / 50mL): I know some people don’t love receiving shampoo in subscription boxes, but I actually love it.  I do wish they’d include the conditioner along with it though. That’s my subscription box pet peeve – shampoo without conditioner (or vice versa).

~L’Oreal Paris Elnett Stain Hairspray (2.2oz): Love this hairspray!  It doesn’t leave your hair all crunchy, but it does it’s job. For a while I tried to use non-aresol hairspray, but I have some to realize that it just doesn’t do the job for me.  This stuff does though!

~L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Night Cream / L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler / L’Oreal Paris True Match Shade Strips: The box also included samples of L’Oreal Age Perfect and L’Oreal Revitalift.  They were tiny one time use samples so I can’t really tell if they actually work or not.  I did love the “True Match” Shade Strips though.  It’s a great way to figure out what color foundation you need at home instead of standing at the store while your kids are being crazy (maybe that’s just mine).

~L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Ultimate Straight: Now this is a set I can get behind!  It’s shampoo, pre-conditoiner and conditioner!  I have never used a pre-conditioner, but I am totally game for it.

All totaled the Target L’Oreal Paris box had a value of $16 (according to the Target website).  I didn’t love this quite as much as I have loved some of the previous beauty boxes, but it was still an awesome deal. This box included a $5 off $20 coupon for your L’Oreal Paris purchase of $20 or more at Target or Target.com too!

As I mentioned this box is now sold out, but I will post as soon as Target releases the next Beauty Box!

I was excited about this one specifically for the small hairspray. My revitalist samples were missing and the hairspray was missing the sprayer. It wasn’t loose in the box, just wasn’t there when it was packed. Target offered me a $2 credit since its sold out.

This one didn’t seem as popular for some reason. I saw a lot of people criticizing the contents when it was first released. I bought it, though, because a lot of those L’Oreal hair products work pretty well for me.

We were supposed to get a sample of the cell renewal night cream, but I just got the card like you. According to the promo pic, they were supposed to be like the revitalift samples. Plus, were we supposed to get conditioner, too? It’s hard to see in the pic, but we were supposed to get another bottle of something. I realize these boxes are mostly trial items, but we should at least get what’s in the promo pics. :/

Ohhh, you are right! The information card just says “Haircare Total Repair 5” and doesn’t specify which / both. But yes, that picture makes it seem like you’d get both! Plus the samples. I need to look on Instagram and see what everyone else got?

I was also missing the conditioner and the cell renewal sample. I emailed them and they gave me a two dollar credit.
