The latest Birchbox Limited Edition Box is here! The Birchbox Limited Edition: Luxe List is $65 (a $255 value) and is filled with up-and-coming indie brands, beauty editor obsessions, and other products that will meet your (exceedingly discerning) standards.
As you likely know, Birchbox offers a $10/month beauty subscription service, but every once in a while they also offer limited edition boxes such as this one. These are one time purchases and are completely separate from the monthly subscription.
My Birchbox Limited Edition: Luxe List shipped via UPS and took under a week to arrive. I ordered it right when it went on sale (11/4) and received it on the 10th.
I actually had forgotten what all was in this box so opening it up was pretty fun! Birchbox always does such a fabulous job with packaging on their Limited Edition boxes and I love the metallic accents on this one.
The Birchbox Limited Edition: Luxe List information card was actually missing a few items (as was my box but we’ll get to that in a minute), but the website shows everything you should get in the box. It included the following:
~Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner in Bang Bang ($26): Ilia is an organic brand and has appeared in just a few subscription boxes over the years (Fun Fact – this exact Ilia shade appeared in the first ever POPSUGAR Must Have Box in July 2012). It looks SO bright (and honestly kind of scary), but it’s not at all. It’s more sheer and is actually quite nice. I remember my sister-in-law LOVING this lipstick so I am going to pass mine along to her!
~Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Dark Like Me ($18): I first discovered Smith & Cult in the Fall Limited Edition POPSUGAR box and have been a fan ever since. The bottles are like works of art. They are absolutely gorgeous. The polish itself is creamy and smooth and “Dark Like Me” is a beautiful shiny deep plum. One note – you can pull the decorative top straight off this bottle and then unscrew the little cap underneath that has the brush attached. At first I trued to use it with the brush attached to the giant cap and yeah, it’s not easy to do your nails like that.
~111 Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel NAC Y2 (5mL / 0.17fl.oz) ($64.60): Oh man, I was going to start off saying how much I loved this already and then I calculated the price! I thought it took the puffiness away instantly and I saw the skin under my eyes looked brighter. A little of this does go a LONG way so I am really hoping I can get an entire month’s use out of it.
~Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer (10mL) ($20): I always get so excited when I see Tata Harper products in subscription boxes. This moisturizer is made with organic ingredients grown right on Tata Harper’s own Vermont farm! I thought the consistency of this was a bit thin when I tried it, but it wasn’t greasy and seemed to firm up as I was putting it on. The scent was a little odd (I don’t even know how to explain it) and, this might sound weird, but I could feel it working. My skin wasn’t tingly necessarily, but I could feel something happening.
~Rituals Ginkgo’s Secret Hand Balm (2.5oz / 75mL) ($17): The scent on this hand balm is incredible (kind of earth and sweet?) and it’s so thick and rich. My hands felt amazing the second I put it on. It rubs in quickly and doesn’t leave your hands all greasy which I appreciate. I can’t stand when I put hand lotion on and then leave marks on whatever I touch.
~R+Co DEATH VALLEY Dry Shampoo (75mL) ($7.11): I am trying to stretch my color as long as possible right now, so dry shampoo is always welcome. I know not everyone loves it, but I am a huge fan. The Death Valley Dry Shampoo smells great (it vaguely reminded me of bug spray but in a good way) and sucks up excess moisture. I always spray dry shampoo way too close to my roots (they recommend holding the can 10-12 inches from your roots, but I hold it – at max 6 inches away) and this one didn’t leave any gross white residue in my hair.
~Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream (50mL / 1.7fl.oz) ($19.50): I must say, Oribe makes some of the best hair products. They are expensive, but worth it. This works as both a leave-in conditioner and a finishing cream. I just applied a little and got great shine without weighing my hair down. It smells awesome too.
~Candlefish Travel Candle (#82 Herbaceous) (3.5oz) ($8): I received the #82 Herbaceous scent, which is a blend of lavender, thyme, and vetiver. It’s interesting and I’m not sure what I think. I smell a lot of thyme in it? It’s certainly a different scent than what I would select so I do like that.
~Umbra Magnolia Jewelry Dish ($10): Cute little jewelry dish. I don’t necessarily “need” another bowl or tray or dish for my jewelry, but I will use it.
~Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Gilded Gold ($28): This actually wasn’t on the information card, but it’s included in the box description online. The gold color is absolutely fabulous and went on super smoothly. I didn’t have any issues with cracking or flanking and I love that you can blend it with your fingers.
~Cynthia Rowley Beauty Makeup Bag ($20): My box was actually missing this item. It’s not listed on the information card, but it’s included in the box pictures and description on the Birchbox site.
~Swatches: I swatched the lipstick and eye crayon so you could get an idea of what they look like on. I *believe* all boxes will include these colors, along with the nail polish color I received.
~Mystery Sample Pack: I am always curious to see what people get in their Mystery Sample Packs (they are free with your purchase of $35+) so I always try and post mine. I am almost certain I received this exact same Mystery Sample Pack in my last order?
All totaled I came up with a value of $238.21 for the Birchbox Limited Edition: Luxe List. The website says it has a value of $255 so there must be a different with how the sample values were calculated? Regardless it’s an amazing value for $65 and I am thrilled with it. If you are interested in ordering you can pick one up here and don’t forget to use one of the following coupon codes to make the deal even better:
