The Activities

The September 2015 Bramble Box Props theme was “Let’s Go Camping” and included the following activities:

~Make A Lantern: The make a lantern materials included a clear craft bucket, tissue paper and a candle “flame”.  WB and I did the “scissoring” (some would call it cutting) together and then put the tissue paper flames and the candle inside the lantern.  And then of course we had to run into the bathroom (the only super dark room in the house) to check it out!

~Build A Campfire: In building a campfire you took the rolls of corrugated cardboard and turn them into “logs”.  You were supposed to use the included glue dots to secure the end of the log, but our glue dots had a mind of their own and ended up kind of all over the place so we just used tape.  It worked just fine.

~Catch Your Dinner: Catch Your Dinner was WB’s favorite project of the kit.  We used a lot of the included felt trying to make fish, but since WB did most of the cutting only ended up with one fish (he let me cut that one).  LOL!  We pretended to cook our fish (WB wanted to put him back in water but he agreed to cook it after a few minutes), but we didn’t get a chance to do anything with the “Fish N’ Learn” game because we had only one fish.  The Fish N’ Learn game had you label your fish with sight words, letters, numbers, etc. and then have your child fish for the item you requested.
