DateCrates November 2015 Subscription Box

DateCrates sells creative and unique date packages that have already been planned for you. DateCrates are NOT a monthly subscription, but rather can be purchased individually. Dates range from $35 – $45 and come in a variety of activities from Glamping to Sushi Master to Rise and Shine.  I received the “Relax & Unwind” box to review which is priced at $35.

I didn’t have too much idea of what to expect from this box when I opened it. In fact, I didn’t even know which theme I would be receiving until I opened the box.

The Information Card

My DateCrates theme was “Relax & Unwind” and included the following “spa” items:

~Deep Steep Bubble Bath ($8.37): The included card gives you some instructions on how to use the items in the box and what order to use them in.  They suggest ending the night with a bubble bath, but really you can do it in whatever order you want.  I was introduced to Deep Steep through subscription boxes a while back and think they have fabulous products.  The Lavender scent is amazing and very relaxing.

~Little Seed Farm Farmstead Milk Soap – Lavender Bar ($7): I like how they included the Lavender bar soap to match the bubble bath.  You could use them together or alone and both will last longer than your date night.  This soap is handcrafted and free of artificial perfumes or dyes.

~ToGoSpa Eyes ($12.50): I LOVE ToGoSpa Eyes and B does too actually.  They are so refreshing and relaxing and take the puffiness away super quickly.

~Weleda Arnica Massage Oil (10mL) ($2.25): This is the part of the date I am most excited about. The massage part!  The card suggest starting with the EYES, then using the mask (below) and then spending the next 10-15 minutes massaging each others back, shoulders arms and whatever else is feeling a little tight.  This isn’t super oily and doesn’t seem like it will make too big if a mess.

~Que Bella Clarifying Cucumber Peel-Off Mask (~$1): I don’t know if most Relax & Unwind boxes include two masks, but mine included only one.  It’s not really a couples activity if only one person gets to use it you know?

~Luminessence Candles ($3.44): These tealights can be used for any part of the date.  I think they would be perfect for the bubble bath part though!  They smell incredible.

~Ghiradelli Chocolates (~$1): And finally, the box included chocolates!  I think putting these on your pillows before bedtime.  You know, like they do a hotels.

All totaled the box had a value of $35.36.  With shipping the box cost $45.36 so it’s not a “value” subscription by any means.  It’s for sure more of an experience and a special treat to let you spend a little more quality time with your significant other.

Target sells those Que Bella masks. I buy them from time to time. I can usually get three uses out of them, so you guys can share 🙂
