ipsy November 2015 Subscription Review - "Beauty Blast"
ipsy November 2015 Subscription – “Beauty Blast”

ipsy is $10/month and sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products selected for you based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost) and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can them redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

The Package

ipsy ships around the 10th of the month via DHL Global Mail. I generally expect to receive my package a week after they ship.

First Look

I absolutely loved the colors of this first look! The bag this month looked amazing!

The November Card

The November 2015 ipsy theme was “Beauty Blast”. ipsy information cards don’t include specific information about the products in your bag – rather than information can be located in your account online. My bag included the following items:

~The Bag: This might be one of my favorite ipsy bag ever. It’s just a nylon type fabric, but I like the colors and the galactic pattern.

The Bag

~Smashbox Cosmetics Full Exposure Mascara (Jet Black) (0.14fl.oz / 4mL) ($9): Wow. This really lengthened my lashes. It doesn’t clump or flake and just made my lashes long and defined. I wasn’t anticipating loving this as much as I did!

~Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Deluxe Sample (1g / 0.03oz) ($8): I am more a fan of gel brow gel to help tame my brows instead of a colored gel to make them look fuller. However, it does work as described and will be handy to have the next time I over pluck (this happens more than it should).

~Luxie Beauty Matte Eyeshadow Pan No. 290 (1.5g / 0.05oz) ($6): I believe the size that ipsy sent out was the full size but I can’t be certain as the website doesn’t include details on the actual size of the full-size item (that drives me crazy). Anyway, No. 290 is a matte plum shadow. It’s hypoallergenic, mineral oil-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free. I thought it applied smoothly and evenly.

~ModelCo HIGHLIGHTING TRIO (3 x 1.2g / 0.04oz) (~$11): The MODELCO. website doesn’t note the actual size of the full-size product on their website (which sells for $22), but the back of this box states “Not for Retail Sale” so I can only assume this isn’t a full size. I estimated it to be about half of the full size product. The trio includes Champagne, Peach Bellini, and Bronze Shimmer, all of which are gorgeous and very wearable. I tried them on my cheekbones and felt like I only needed a little to really see the shimmer.

~LeeAnni Eco Go Away Gloomy Day Serum (0.5fl.oz) ($14.99): This serum is really watery. It’s definitely not the typically consistency you expect from a serum. For that reason I wish they would have put a sprayer on the bottle instead of it just having an open top. You apply it after cleansing and before lotion morning and night. It soaked into my skin quickly, but I didn’t see / feel any immediate difference.

All totaled I came up with a value of $48.99 for the November 2015 ipsy Glam Bag. I had fun trying everything in here but it just didn’t seem as exciting to me in person as I was expecting. Still, I ALWAYS think ipsy is worth the $10/month price tag! They pack a ton of goodies into their bags every month and the value always amazes me.
