Julep is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service. They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products. Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers. Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes. I finally decided to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription so I am now able to customize my box.
Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the month.
As usual I ordered some add-ons with this box so it was packed full! I will review the November box items and them will touch on my add-ons as well. Here is what I customized my November 2015 Julep “Switch-Up” box to include:
~Cheyenne – Bombshell ($11.20 / $14): Cheyenne is an auburn matte metallic. I never think of matte and metallic as going together, but this works. When I am not sure what color I want on my nails this is the type of shade I go for. It’s classic and gorgeous.
~Sonia – It Girl ($11.20 / $14): Sonia is a blue steel matte metallic. It’s actually kind of “outer space’ish” and has a bit of green in it. When Julep has a special finish polish, I have to get it! I like changing things up every once in a while.
~What Your Skin Needs ($28 / $38): What Your Skin Needs is a lightweight facial milk infused with a five-oil blend to treat, hydrate, and replenish skin. I just received it yesterday, but so far so good. I found it to be very moisturizing without being oily.
~Shake It Up ($11.20 / $14): Subscribers this month were given this free Shake It Up top coat. Julep sent out an e-mail to subscribers letting them know about this freebie and if you were interested, you were able to use the link in your e-mail to get this added to your box. Anyway, of course I added it and I think it might be my favorite item in this box. It’s glossy and shimmery and fabulous! I hope they end up selling it on their site.
~Add-Ons: For my add-ons this month I opted for Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops (I swear by these), Take a Breather – Sheer Shimmer (I need to give my nails a break soon) and the gorgeous All is Bright sampler which included: Melinda (It Girl): Fuchsia berry liquid holographic, Tessa (Boho Glam):Blue jay liquid holographic and Viv (It Girl): Crème de menthe liquid holographic. I received Oscar ( an ultra chic, multi-dimensional gold glitter) as my free-gift. The prices on the add-ons are always amazing and I can’t resist those free gifts!
All totaled I came up with a value of $61.60 for my November 2015 Julep box. I loved the collection this month!
