Citrus Lane January 2016 Subscription Box (3 Year-Old Boy)

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for children from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. It’s $29/month, but the price decreases to $24.95 with a 6-month subscription.  I receive a box for WB (boy) who turned 3 in April.

I want to quickly mention that Citrus Lane is closing their doors and December will be the last month they are shipping boxes. December 2015 and January 2016 boxes both shipped in December – this review is on my January box. Note: I am hearing that not all annual subscribers have received their January 2016 box yet. Mine shipped a few days after my December box (in a completely separate box). I am not sure that I received a separate tracking number for it, but I did see it showing up in my FedEx account.

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes about a week to arrive.  They ship on (or slightly before) the 15th of the month and I generally expect to receive my box by the 20th of the month.

First Look

Just like the December box, the January box didn’t include an information card.  I guess they figured it didn’t matter anymore so why bother?

Here is what my 3.5 year-old “boy” January Citrus Lane box included:

~Wee Gallery 32 Ways to Dress A Piggy ($4.95): How cute is this?  It’s a guided sketch book / coloring book.  I think both of my boys will like it so I’ll be tossing it in my purse for restaurants and waiting rooms and that kind of thing.

~Star Wars Epic Yarns Return of the Jedi ($6.90): OMG this is adorable!  It’s the story of Return of the Jedi told with the characters made out of yarn. Each page has only a single word that describes the scene.  Oddly enough, they can get the story told in 12 pages which is amazing.  I love this book!

~Space Monster Kitchen Timer by Sassafras ($7.99): This timer can be used for cooking or for time outs.  We have a lot of cookie baking to do in the next few days, and I’ll put the kids in charge of setting the timer!

~Hape Path Finder ($14.99): I didn’t get this at first, but then I realized that it’s a maze game that you need to complete with blocks.  Players roll the die and then find the corresponding block in that color and place it on the board.  It goes on and on until the maze is completed.

All totaled I came up with a value of $34.83 for the January 2016 Citrus Lane box. I really liked these last two boxes from Citrus Lane and it’s going to make me miss them even more.  I started subscribing to them when WB was a baby and they were one of the first subscription boxes I ever received so I think that makes me even sadder they are closing.  Thanks for all the great boxes CL!

If you are looking for alternatives, check out bluum (0-5 years old) or / or A Little Bundle (0-3 years old)!  For older children for sure check out one of the Kiwi Crate boxes!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?
