Julep is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service. They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products. Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers. Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes. I finally decided to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription so I am now able to customize my box.
Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the month.
As usual I ordered some add-ons with this box so it was packed full (even fuller than I expected actually)! I will review the December box items and them will touch on my add-ons as well. Here is what I customized my December 2015 Julep “All Night Long” box to include:
~Julep Omelia (Wonder Maven) ($11.20 / $14): Omelia is a sparkling sugarplum stardust. When I saw it I knew it would be perfect for this season. Stardust polishes have the texture of a gritty sand and instead of being shiny, they are more of a matte. I absolutely love Julep’s Stardust polishes. Mainly because you cannot mess up your nails. You don’t have to be super careful and if you smudge it, it’s an easy fix.
~Julep Tish (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Tish is a silver bell full-coverage micro glitter. I also can’t pass up a glitter. This isn’t anything revolutionary, it’s your classic silver glitter. The good thing about this one is that you do not need a base coat. This is full coverage! I needed two coats when I did a test, but I always do.
~Julep It’s Whipped – At Midnight ($22): At Midnight is described as a Fireball Red. And boy, is it ever! This is a RED lip color! It’s got a creamy texture and I would describe it as a liquid lipstick. The staying power on this is insanity. I am not even kidding when I saw that I had trouble getting it off.
Add-Ons: For my paid Add-Ons I selected Rashida (a rosy copper matte metallic), the The Merrier Mystery Trio and the Oh What Fun Duo (which includes Suki – an ethereal silver chrome and Rowan – a blackberry sorbet shimmer). I didn’t realize it, but because I added on a Black Friday Set, I got the Julep “Oh Look!” mirror free! Plus I received a free polish for taking three add-ons as well! I am not sure what my “free” polish was vs. what was in my Merrier Mystery Trio, but it doesn’t matter. Julep add-ons are a great deal and I can never resist them. I have been collecting all my duplicates / similar colors for a friend of mine and her 3 daughters so nothing goes to waste!
All totaled I came up with a value of $52 for my December 2015 Julep box. Great collection this month and awesome add-on deals!
