Stitch Fix January 2016 Subscription Box Review
Stitch Fix January 2016 Subscription Box

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Card

Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $356.  If you keep one or two items it’s the price listed minus your $20 styling fee.  If you keep everything, you take 25% off the total and then deduct the $20 styling fee. Here are the pieces I received:

~Andrew Marc Mons Puffer Jacket ($98): I really like this coat.  Like more than I expected to like it actually. The arms are a bit long, but it’s super cute.   I am not sure if it’s $98 cute though.  I’d for sure keep it if it were $50, but at nearly $100 I really need to think and decide if I’ll wear it enough. Verdict: Undecided.

~Just Black Dean Skinny Jean ($78): Meh.  These are cute, but not CUTE.  They look black in the picture, but they are really more of a navy.  The fit is fine and I like the stretch, but I am not wowed by them.  Verdict: Returned.

~RD Style Calandra Side Button Hooded Poncho ($68): This is absolutely everything.  I love every single thing about this. The buttons on the sides, the neckline, the long length, the hood (it has a HOOD!), just everything.  I am seriously obsessed with this and I need to find out from my Stylist if it comes in any other colors!!  Verdict: Kept!

~Laila Jayde Bowie Solid Doman Sleeve Top ($58): I like this shirt, but for the price I don’t think it was worth it.  It’s a lightweight material and when I compare it to the sweater for $10 more, it just doesn’t seem worth it. Had the hooded poncho not been included in this fix though I may have kept it.  Verdict: Returned.

~BRIXON IVY Sylvester Split Neck Blouse ($54): The color of this blouse is absolutely stunning!  I like the cut of it and the material is nice, but I don’t think I would wear it enough to justify keeping it. Verdict: Returned.

Because of that hooded poncho, I pretty much love this month’s Stitch Fix!  I really don’t think my stylist could have selected a better item for me and I am just thrilled with it.  No, not everything worked out for me this month, but that is more than okay!  I don’t really want 5/5 fixes because that would get expensive fast!  My SIL said she had to put her Stitch Fix on pause because she kept keeping everything ;).
